This hotel is not a resort. Not much of a view and the whole point of Sedona is the view. If you were planning on being out and about and only sleeping it was just fine. Clean room. A bit out of town - could not walk to "uptown". As I say, if you just want a decent place to crash then this is fine, but overpriced.

Great staff, fine views (from the second floor higher priced rooms), clean rooms, and proximity to town all led to a great four-day getaway for our family. The Inn serves breakfasts (cereals, toast, waffles, coffee) every morning, so we could enjoy slow mornings and card games in the breakfast room. The single downside was road noise, but the heater/air unit drowned it out quite well. We loved hearing coyotes throughout the night. I would recommend this inn to all visitors to Sedona.

On the plus side: Comfortable beds, tasty waffles at the continental breakfast, quiet rooms. On the minus side: Microscopic tub, fridge froze my food (was set on max- would set it at half max if I knew then what I know now...)

This is a motel. The room doors face the building exterior, the windows on the first floor open to the parking lot. For a motel, it's nice. But no motel, including this one, should have a 4 star rating. If your looking for a place to sleep while in Sedona, I would recomend booking a cheaper place. If you want a 4 star experience, I would look elsewhere.

The in-room gas fireplace and attentive staff made our stay here much better than the typical hotel. Don't expect a five-star resort experience, but this is a very comfortable place to stay in Sedona.

My wife and I were very very pleased with the Southwest Inn at Sedona where we stayed in mid-October 2005. In particular, we appreciated the advise of the concierge, whether it was for gourmet restaurants, a spa, hiking trails or other places of interest to visit.

Southwest Inn of Sedona was wonderful. High quality linen. Very clean, well appointed rooms. Gas kivas in each room were a great touch. Hot tub and pool were very clean. Breakfasts were more than adequate. Jacuzzi tub was wonderful. We plan to return to Sedona and will definitely stay at Southwest Inn again.

The Southwest Inn offers a nice change from the normal chain hotels that are so common these days. It's basically a spruced up motel (not hotel), and they've done a nice job. However, you can't wholly disguise the motel look and feel of this place. It's clean, the rooms have fireplaces in the corner, and they've been decorated nicely, but the bathrooms leave something to be desired. Not on par with a four or five star hotel--no nice products, fluffy towels, luxury showers, etc. The rooms come with DVD players, a nice touch, but the tv in my room stunk--weird picture that gave me a headache. All in all, I'd stay there again, but I wouldn't be too sad if I had to try someplace else in Sedona.

We stayed at the Southwest Inn 5/05. The room was very nice and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was great. It offered boiled eggs, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruits, toast, bagles, and a variety of teas. There was an outside patio you could eat on. It was such a great way to start our day. We loved the pillowtop mattresses and the fireplace in our room. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay! It's located at at the edge of town with fewer rooms then most, so is quieter. Very clean rooms. The one I had had a fireplace....very nice touch. The hotel staff were very friendly. Their restaurant recommendations were right on the mark! I'd definately stay there again.

This hotel turned an extremely bad flight experience (arrival 8 hours late) into a pleasant day. They (and only they) were helpful and considerate during our contact calls. They made provisions for late arrival, gave us suggestions for things to do on the way from the airport, got us last minute reservations at a good restaurant and were professional, friendly and helpful in every thing. The rooms are very nice with a lot of little touches (extra towels, free breakfast, sparkling clean, quiet and a great view of the 'red rocks' from your own porch, and if it gets chilly there is a great little gas log fireplace). They're suggestions as to local restaurants, tours (Red Rock Tours also rates 4 Stars), were all 100%. We have already recommended it to all of our friends that travel to the Southwest. We award them a Superior Rating in all catagory's. Clearly, we will go back to them every time we can.

We had a private porch with a view of the beautiful Red Rocks from our porch. The room was large and comfortable with a gas burning fireplace. Steps away from our room was a hot spa. The morning breakfast room was filled with delicious temptations and had an outdoor eating area that faced the Red Rocks. The Southwest Inn has the feeling of an old fashioned Bed and Breakfast.

Keep in mind that Sedona is expensive, so the price-feature mix of this hotel is probably not what you'd expect. However, if you're in Sedona you shouldn't be in your room anyway! The hotel is on 89A a little out of town (i.e. away from the main tourist stuff), and right next to Boynton Canyon. This is an awesome place to stay if you want to be close to a lot of spectacular hiking trails.
