If all you need is a basic clean room, hotel is fine....but big signs of wear and tear. Service appears good..light fixture fixed in good time, checkout good. We were only there to sleep. Worked out OK for us.

The Hawaiian Gateway was clean and comfortable, but not fancy. The pool was clean, the personel friendly and helpful. However, the place was in need of painting and repair. If you expect a coffee maker, refrigerater, microwave, hairdryer, don't stay at the Hawaiian Gateway. If a comfrotable bed, good air conditioning, and TV are all you need, then this is the place for you. It is close to the Disney parks. We found the place adequate for our needs.

This place needs a complete overhaul. The rooms have flooring curling up on the edges, plaster missing in several areas, and paint chipping inside and out. The carpet was dirty, so were the sheets! The service was slow to none!! The air was musty smelling in the room. The pictures look so much better than the real thing. DONT STAY HERE!!!!!

We got lost on our way to the hotel, and we called and a man from the front desk stayed with us, until we figured our way...very helpful...very big spacious rooms, with 2 beds...we had a problem with the toilet and someone came up and fixed asap....nice clean big pool and very nice grounds...only problem we had was some of the ice machines didn't work it was like a treasure hunt finding the ones that did. Besides a great hotel...

This "hotel" was horrible! The rooms smelled really bad. The toilet in one of our rooms didn't flush. The tub in the same room leaked. The beds sunk in the middle. The rooms were so bad, we were willing to lose a nights cost, just to get out of there and into another hotel.

The only reason to stay here is to be close to Disney at a cheap rate. The rooms were not very good. There was smell of stale air when I first opened the room. The sheets had big yellow spots on them and were not changed in the 4 days that we stayed there. Thank God we there were 2 beds there.

I've stayed in many hotels in orlando most of them at a lower price than this one; they have not been the best in location but believe the service and maintenance of these other hotels are much better. The room was very small, dirty and there is humidity in the walls. Tha bathroom wallpaper is falling off and the tub needs some real cleaning. This is a place if you are dirving by and just need a place to sleep, but I do noy recomend this hotel for a family vacation at all.

Pros: Cheap and extremely close to WDW. Lots of places to eat nearby and a supermarket across the road. Lots of parking. Cons: Rooms smell...they're either very old or very poorly kept up. The AC was noisy as hell and the room temperature felt like it was jumping between 55 and 85 every 20 minutes. The staff was rude and lackadaisical...they should learn something about customer service.

We have stayed at this hotel twice. It is located close to restaurants, a market and souvernir shops!! The hotel is a good bargain as far as budget minded travel goes. It has a large pool area which is helpful for families because it is next to the guest laundry facilities, so you can do your laundry while watching your kids play in the pool. The shuttle service to WDW is great the ride takes from 30-45 min (but hey, you don't pay the WDW $12 daily parking fee plus car rental fee just to have your car sit in a parking lot all day!). There is an Alamo Car Rental office in the hotel, as well as a Steakhouse which has nightly Karaoke: great atmosphere and lots of fun (they also have a breakfast buffet)! The rooms were clean and tidy, you might find a few repairs needed here and there but that is not a big deal (the hotel needs some hard-earned TLC). Of course as with most economy hotels there are some things wrong with it. . . when we first arrived we walked into our room and it smelled musty, the carpet was wet and there was a piece of the bathroom floor molding missing but we went to the front desk told them of our problem and we were quickly relocated. Also, the in-room safes are small (unfortunately ours was broken). I still recommend this hotel, afterall you're only really going to sleep in there, the rest of your time will be spent at the parks!

Our room was very disgusting. The bathroom floor was peeling up and was so dirty we couldn't even tell what color it was supposed to be. The tub was obviously cracked under a poor cover up, and it felt like we were going to fall through the bottom every time we stepped into it. The beds were so old that we felt like we were sleeping on the floor. The pool was okay, but all of the chairs surrounding it were broken, so there was no place to sit and relax. When our bathroom light burned out, it took someone almost all day to come over and replace it. We had to leave the hotel just to use the bathroom!

Best part= price Worst part= condition and dirtyness of room Overall, the hotel was average. It was conveniently located about 5 miles from Disney World, but with the slow shuttle service, took about an hour to get to the park. The sheets were made of sandpaper and the carpet had stains all over it. This is a good hotel if you want to save money and be close to the park, but beware, if you want to take a taxi anywhere around Disney grounds it is a standard $17 each way. Do not book this hotel if you are expecting more than economy standards. But who really spends a lot of time in their hotel room when visiting the Orlando area?

It wasn't the best hotel but i SAVED more than I would have if I used my AAA card. My boyfriend and I had a blast because I love Florida and he's never been away for vacation, it reminds him of back home where he's from. I'm not really concerned on where I stay for the night as long as there's things to do. 8 day-7night weren't bad at all. The people who work on the grounds of the hotel are helpful and friendly. One problem was that the toliet that didn't work for half of the day, but who's staying at the hotel if your there to make something happen, different from the hum drum of going to work and school. Great places to eat, your near disney and etc. 5 min. from the highway and close to a Latino club and many places to shop, so, over all I give it a 4. It's not about the hotel, it's about what you get to do and with whom.

Really my whole experience with this hotel was okay, nothing more, nothing less. Upon checking in we were given wrong directions to our room and had to wander around for about 10 minutes with heavy suitcases trying to find it on our own (the hotel is divided in 3 parallel buildings; we were instructed to go left out of the lobby, when actually it was supposed to be right). Upon getting to our room, there was only 1 double bed (and 3 adults sharing the room). I had to call the front desk and spoke with a competent employee (probably the manager) who said we needed to come back to the lobby and get a new key after apologizing for the mix up (we were supposed to have 2 double beds). We did so, but our new room was the furthest room from the lobby, a good 5 minute walk, still with our heavy suitcases in tow. This room had 2 double beds, but was a smoking room, even though I requested non-smoking. The rest of the stay went fine, but after you've been travelling for 4 hours, you just want to get to your room with no hassels, and it did not make a good first impression. The shuttle bus provided by the hotel was extremely efficient; I had low expectations for it, but I was very impressed by the shuttle system.

I will give the management credit for not disputing our desire to leave and when we called expedia to cancel, things were resolved most redily. we did have to stay that first night and my wife didn't sleep at all. there is no excuse for a motel property like this to be in this kind of condition.
