Very pleasant, comfortable atmosphere. Right on the beach makes easy access to water activities. Hotel has everything from shopping to dining but we like to explore the town to feel the culture. Activity discounts after Time share presentation are benefit if you use them. Hotel services are excellent, but fitness room should not have a user fee.

I just got back from villa Del Palmar and was not impressed at all,Cockroaches were running around our room every day, Had a terrible view of the parking lot and could not upgrade because all the ocean view rooms are for the time share guest.Everything was expensive;Hawaii would be cheaper. Front desk workers were rude and could care less. This place thinks the peso is worth more than the dollar. Travel somewhere else you deserve it...

The VDP is a beautiful hotel with a spectacular view. We had a 1-bdr villa w/2 full baths, kitchen, and living area. Plenty of room for all 3 of us (and our 12yr old daughter had her own bathroom!) Kudos to VDP for excellent nightly entertainment choices. Don't miss the Monday mexican fiesta. Also the onsite grocery store was a huge plus and a great idea! We were bothered once or twice about the timeshare seminar, but left alone to enjoy ourselves otherwise.

My husband and I honeymooned at the Villa Del Palmar Resort and Spa. Our hotel was right on the beach and had access to a lot of fun activities. About $7 cab rides one way to town and to the Marina. Food was a bit expensive, but that is to be expected. Overall, we had a wonderful trip!

The worst place I have ever stayed. We requested a room with a view of the ocean and a king bed. When we arrived our room was not ready and when it was we had a view of the parking lot with 2 double beds. I went to the bathroom and saw roachs running around. We killed two of them and took them to the front desk. They were not very accomidating. I was in the shower with my hair soaped up when the water turned off. When the maintenance man finally arrived I was dripping in a towel shivering!! The attitude and service was TERRIBLE!! When the water was working it was VERY rusty. We couldn't get a seat at the pool because people would run down to the pool very early to place a towel on a chair and return at their leaisure. I could say more, but if you don't get the picture you may as well waste your money.

If you want a quality hotel, I would not recommend this hotel. You will NEVER get greeted by the hotel staff. If you have a complaint you will never get any service. Don't request an extra blanket because it will never arrive. The food maybe good, but you will pay at least $150.00 for 4 people at every meal. The locate maybe great, close to the Marina but that is about it. I exspect for the price to receive top quality service and we did not at all. Everyone that arrived after me at registration was being shuffled off to another hotel. I felt grateful to able to get a room. Did I mention that I refused the timeshare marathon so I was a no body at the hotel. Maybe if you attend their timeshare you maybe greeted at least once.

Great place to stay with the kids. Everyone was friendly. The service was not speedy but adequate enough. There was no Mexican food at the resort and it was expensive for Mexico! Somewhat dissapointing! Go into town. If you go fishing bring your catch to Captain Johns at the Marina. He will cook it up a few different ways. Best and most affordable dinner of the trip!

My family and I enjoyed our vacation in Cabo and our stay in Villa Del Palmar but did find several areas needing improvement. We expected an ocean view but got a view of the roof of an adjacent bldg. The registration desk claimed their were no ocean view rooms left. The rooms look dated and need to be updated. The pool area was often too crowded and sometimes filled with drunk teens - not a great family environment. We did enjoy some of the hotel led pool activities and the mimi golf course.

From the moment we stepped off the plane, we were constantly being pressured into buying a timeshare. For the first day or two, you could not walk away from the hotel with being confronted. The hotel was nice, but washcloths were hard to come by and our "garden view" was the looking down on the front of the hotel. The pool chairs are limited as people place towels on them early. The resort has a beautiful view of land's end and the water taxi over was remarkable. The ocean is a bit rough and rip tides are very likely. The hotel does warn you about swimming in the ocean. You are able to walk to town, however, it was a bit uncomfortable in regards of safety for just myself and Mom. The hotel staff obviously must work on commission in regards to the number of timeshare tours/sales that they make, because that is their number one concern. You can get answers to your questions, but you must listen to their sales pitch first. My next trip, I will definitely take lots of small bills for purchases, as dealing with the pesos and change was a stress. Overall we had a good time.

The Villa del Palmaris on a lovely part of El Medano beach, with beautiful views of the Cape. The waves are usually gentle enough for swimming. Moreover, the hotel is within walking distance of the downtown restaurants and bars, and the rooms are adequate, if a bit old. However, I was subject to unrelenting pressure to buy a timeshare at the neighboring complex from the moment of my arrival at the Cabo airport. A Mexican official led me to the hotel desk, where I was offered a 'promotion' if I would submit to a sales presentation. Essentially, purchases of food and tours at the hotel cost more unless you accept the promotion. Once I arrived at the hotel, the concierge pressed me to participate and followed up with calls and notes until I finally agreed. The timeshares are for rights to vacations and not a share in ownership in the resort, so the buyer does not benefit from any capital gains. Moreover, it was unclear to me whether the buyer is subject to risk that the developer would fail financially.

Front desk staff was extremely rude and not very helpfull. The concierge staff was always trying to sell me on a timeshare presentation instead of trying to accommodate my vacation. I would expect people bugging you in town about timeshares but when you tell them no more than once at the hotel then you would think they would not ask again. I asked for a restaurant recommendation and she still tried to sell me a on timeshare presentation very annoying. The maid service did not clean our room one day and we told front desk about it and nothing was done. Also there was a bunch of obnoxious teenagers running throught the halls late at night. Not a very relaxing hotel that caters to your needs. On the positive side, Cabo is a beautiful place and the hotel grounds are nice but will not be back at this hotel.

She seemed too always be crabby. The location was very good. It was about a 10 minute walk to town. We would walk to town at daytime and take taxi rides home at night because we didn't know how safe it would be to walk home. We didn't trust anyone because it was just me and my sister who went. I would go back because it was an awesome experience. It was so beautiful there. I recommend the sunset cruise and horseback riding.

My girlfriend and I just spent 6 relaxing days at the VDP, and overall we were very satisfied. The hotel, restaurants, and pool areas were in great condition. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, and you cannot beat the location. You can walk to downtown, and then it's a short 5 minute cab ride back.If you are a drinker, take advantage of the all-inclusive meal deal.It more than pays for itself with drinks by the pool all day. Definitely check out their sister property on site (Villa del Arco). What a place! And definitely do the glass bottom boat tour.It was amazing! Now some things to be aware of: don't fall for the "gold card" bit. We were told it could be used "all over town" for discounts, and no one even knew what we were talking about. Even VDP's own stores had day-of week restrictions.Basically it is a tool to get you to talk to someone about a timeshare. But the good news is you can get some really good free stuff by taking a tour - but count on 3-4 hours and not 1.5 hours they state. The other thing is to watch your bill closely. You are not allowed to keep a copy of the bills you sign for, so it is easy to lose track of what you spend, and at checkout it becomes very confusing. Overall though we would definitely go to the VDP again. It was a great experience.

The Villa del Palmar is well-located, as well as clean, comfortable, beautiful, and fun. The rooms are very pretty and the pool and surrounding area are gorgeous. The hotel restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. The nightly entertainment, while a little pricy, was very fun. We went on Mexican fiesta night and watched typical Mexican dance, danced the Conga line, ate all we wanted, and drank all we wanted. It was very fun. We really had a great time. We definitely recommend it.

We travel quite often so our travel palates are a bit too picky for our own good but to my surprise this place was by far the best place for whatever your desires are. My family and I went for a week and did not want to come home. The food was wonderful and there is no real need to leave the hotel thats how wonderful it was. The people who work there are great and willing to help in any way. Happy Hour was a blast! Our daughter had a blast with volleyball in the pool, a big slide, the safe feeling (we are from NYC) and different shows. We did the buffet show one evening and it was the best buffet we have ever had. We loved it so much we purchased a timeshare and are ready to plan our next trip. Hope you all have as much fun as we did.

We had absolutely no problems with this resort. They do have ways of irritating you with the gold card pitch but just ignore and have a great time. The resort is in the perfect spot for the 30 somethings that want to be close to town but not too close to the 20 somethings partiers. The views of Land's End are wonderful. Would not hesitate to go back...if fact I'm already planning on a return next February.

I was (unnecessarily) skeptical about this resort due to other guest's postings. Granted, I was not there during Spring Break but we had a wonderful time at VDP. After being VERY FIRM about NOT being interested in a timeshare or anything for free (which will lead to a timeshare pitch) they left us alone. The rooms were fine - we did not have a problem with the beds or pillows. The hallways do echo since the floors are all marble but it was not bothersome or continuous. Pretty place, nicely landscaped. The pool chairs are tough to come by but we would go to the beach until lunchtime when the first chairs open up. The walk to town was not too far - although I would not expect my 70 year old mother to walk it. $7 cab ride home was fair. There are plenty of good restaurants in town with lots of variety and entertainment. The hotel's restaurant by the beach is good, too. The water was pretty rough (red flags) but plenty of people were in the water. Lots of vendors on the beach but not too bothersome. Took the watertaxi to El Arco, $10pp, nice photo opps. I recommend the resort!

Perfect for our family plus friend. We did not do the all inclusive deal because we didn't want to be tied to the hotel for dinner. Ended up not eating dinner there at all. The rooms are clean but the one bedroom suite i stayed in was not worth the price. The main reason i took the 1 bdrm was for the King bed. The rooms were noisy and you could hear outside the hallways. Sleeping was tough. Walls and ceilings were thin. But the pool was great. Food quite decent at poolside bar. Nice beach.
