Expensive parking - with the amount of empty space in the neighbourhood they shouldn't charge for parking at all. We're not on Times Square where parking space is basically non-existing! The room-service "forgot" our room twice and only after three requests and a few hours of waiting did we get clean towels (but no more than that). The rooms are more-less clean, but some places don't get to see the face of the romm-keeper too often (plenty of dust on the bottom shelf of the small coffe table, corners in the bathtub...) And now to positives: very friendly and helpful receptionists! Good location of the hotel!

This hotel is a nice hotel and the area is nice. It is also close to the beach. We stayed there 3 nights and our room was never cleaned by Housekeeping even though we made several complaints. (They did give us a complimentary breakfast voucher for our complaints). You have to pay to park. Overall if they get their Housekeeping Department together the hotel would be an excellent stay.

We were looking for a hotel for two nights that was close to Port Everglades since we were taking a one day cruise. This hotel was in walking distance to the Port. Check in was quick and smooth. The front desk staff was very helpful offering suggestions for shopping and dining. Our room was clean and comfortable with down comforters and lots of great pillows. We enjoyed the nice mint shampoo, lotion and soap. I had a late night "take out" club sandwich from the bar that was very good and the service was friendly. Our room overlooked the pool which was a good size, however, we didn't have time for a swim. The only minor glitch was a malfunction with the toilet. It was after 11 p.m. and the maintenance staff was not available. Since it was our last night, we opted not to change rooms. So, they provided a key for the room next to us. This hotel was perfect for our stay the night before and after the cruise. The rate in the package with the airfare was very good too.

My wife, 10 month old and myself took a weekend trip. We were very pleased with the Ren. Hotel. The Bistro 17 had very good food and excellent service. The staff (front desk, cleaning and door) were all very helpful and friendly. The room (deluxe) was very suitable even with a crib. Overall we would recommend the Ren. Hotel to anyone. Thank you Expedia

The price gouging - $18/day parking for a hotel in the middle of nowhere and $10/day wireless access was disappointing. We had a family member who was not well and who stayed in the room until 3pm. We then asked for the room to be cleaned as we went out. On return 4 hours later it was not done. We asked again as were going out to dinner. Again not done. At 9pm we asked for at least clean towels, but sadly had to ask twice before we got them. On the plus side the restaurant was a excellent in both service and food.

Overall, this was a pleasant place to stay. It is centrally located and close to the beaches. The service was excellent and the room was clean. However, it was costly to park your vehicle at $14/day ($18/day valet)--almost as much as it was to rent the vehicle.

The staff at the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Hotel were great. Very helpful in arranging our transpertaion to the Port. The pool was small and the room was also a bit small. We stayed for 2 nights before our cruise the hotel was very busy with a convention it was a little hard to get service in the bar as the bartentder had to wait on everyone in the bar as well as fill drinks for the dinning room. He needs alittle help. This was our first trip to Fort Lauderdale and if we cruise out of the Port of Everglades again we will stay at the Renaissance.

We loved the hotel's location as it was close(driving distance) to the Fort Lauderdale beach 2 1/2 miles, as well as Miami, Palm Beach and Hollywood. There is ample parking, but expect to pay $14 per day to self park. The pool was bit small for this type of hotel. The deep end was 5 feet. If you don't rent a car, there are restaurants and 24 hour drug stores within walking distance. This hotel was better than some we saw located on the beach.

First, the good... the room was very clean and fairly large. It had most of the comforts of home and felt comfortable. It was close to the water bus (about a 15 minute walk) which allows travel within the Fort Lauderdale area (Shops, restaurants, beach, etc.). A nice pool and the staff were mostly helpful. It was also fairly close to the airport and freeways. Now for the bad. The bathroom in the room was very tight quarters and the tub itself wasn't really usable for a bath (way too small and the towel rack in the shower with you?!?). I could pretty much hear anything going on in the halls throughout the night. The high speed internet access listed as an ammenity in the room was a $10 charge per night. The parking was expensive, $12 a night, plus it was valet only so expect to add another bit for a tip everytime you take your car out.

The hotel was very easy to find and very close to the airport. It was beautiful and had everything we needed. The water bus is within walking distance. We would definitely go back again.
