Biggest complaint : The staff would say no to everything. They have a hard time bringing a smile to their faces. Very unhelpful people. The corridors smelled badly. I had to walk with my baggage to a different building than the main hotel to get to my room. And I had paid for a regular room. They can't even help with basic directions and have no maps available. Only nice feature is its proximity to the metro station.

My family visited the DC area during Spring Break '05. We found the hotel to be conveniently located to the subway which we took into DC each day. Although a bit aged, our room was clean and confortable. We didn't try the hotel rest, as there were plently of places close by. A very nice place for the money.

This hotel is a nice hideaway from Washington D.C. The cost is significantly lower than anything in D.C. The Courthouse Metro station is located two blocks away, so the location is very convenient. The only drawback to the hotel is that it is that rooms are enclosed, so you can hear noises and doors closing from down the hallway. Can be annoying if kids are running down the hall or hotel near capacity. There is a motel lodge, that is part of the hotel, located on the side, so this might be a better option, depending on how much time you will spend in the room. The hotel is located a few blocks from several restaurants, a theater, and a few shops.

They were totally understaffed at the front desk. No one I asked at the front desk (asked on two occasions) even knew that the Grey Line bus came every day at 7:35 to pick up guests. The people at the restaurant were rude. No one seemed very happy to be working there. We actually had to carry our luggage up STAIRS to get to our room. Pillows were flat and had no extras. It was a room, but 3 stars, no way.

My friend and I used this hotel during our tritp to DC. Good location to the Metro station and a shuttle to and from. Nice comfortable room for our purposes. Down side...it didn't really seem that the staff was very familiar with DC in terms of location of attractions, how to get to/from, etc... Monument grill (resturant in hotel) left really something to be desired. More like a cafeteria than a resturant. Overall, I would stay there again if needed.

After reading some of the negative reviews about this place I was a bit nervous, but I'm happy to report I had a very good experience there. My room was in one of the two "external" buildings (meaning they were separate from the main tower) but both were very close to the main tower. My room was small but updated and therefore quite pleasant: the heating/AC unit was very new, and the bathroom was new and clean. I also thought the bed was more comfortable than those at a lot of hotels I've stayed at. I loved being able to walk to the Metro (subway) stop and many restaurants in the Clarendon area. But the best part of my experience was the recovery of some clothing items I left in a drawer. I didn't realize it until 24 hours after I'd checked out, but I called and they still had them. Housekeeping left them in a bag for me at the front desk. Kudos to this hotel for having an honest and organized Housekeeping staff.

Hotel staff was amicable; they allowed us to check in early without much notice after we got soaked in the city. The hotel's infrastructure is a little outdated and is somewhat difficult to navigate. However, the rooms were clean and quite comfortable. There is a free shuttle to the metro which is three blocks away. Also, parking at the hotel is -free-. Needless to say, if you are looking for an affordable hotel close to the city, this is the place for you.

The hotel is in a convenient area, a short $1.35 metro ride to the sites. The room was huge, with a kitchen area with sink and microwave, eating counter, and a refrig. First impression was good. Having a refrig was great for quick breakfasts before sightseeing. A pull out sofa instead of the two chairs would have made better sleeping arrangements for our two boys, who did not like sharing a bed. Certainly plenty of room for it. A roll-away was quoted for $15 extra per night. Also found beds to be a bit soft, prefer more firm.Free parking is rare so close to the city. A hotel shuttle to the metro, if you don't want to walk, also puts you near good restaurants, fast food, and a drug store. We didn't move our car from check-in to check-out, and felt safe walking back to the hotel after dinner. Staff was responsive. They could do better on the little things, though: no in-room coffee service though advertised, only one small wastebasket, no dish soap (well, no dishes either), no drinking glasses were provided, just those little wrapped disposable things. Ice bucket liner was never replenished. Heater was not working the first night, though was quickly repaired when staff was notified the next day. Overall we'd recommend the hotel and would not hesitate staying there again. We value cleanliness, comfort and convenience over fancy amenities, especially when the hotel is not the focus of our stay. This hotel is a very good value.

The dictionary defines "suite" as a series of connected rooms. This hotel advertises suites but in reality they are one room plus an alcove with kitchen facilities. The beds were side by side and did not afford the privacy the word "suite" implies to me. We paid heavily to upgrade to a two room suite. This new room was so shabby and in such disrepair that the door handles literally fell off, actually entrapping my son in one of the bedrooms! The response to our call for help was slow and amazingly nonchalant. Whew, what a horrid experience.

The pictures of the hotel on the Expedia website and the 3-star rating made me think that this hotel would be quite nice. I was wrong. While the staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was very tired looking. My room was dank and depressing and looked out right on a sidewalk where anyone could peer in so keeping the curtains closed at all times was a necessity. The blow dryer didn't work, and there were no toiletries in the bathroom. All in all, an underwhelming experience.

My first impression was that the hotel was very nice, for the amount of money we were paying. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The decor was attractive. The room itself was rather large. It was clean but, smelled of a strong men's cologne. I assume the guest before us must have spilled a bottle. There's not much that can be done about that, and with time it faded. Since we were on the back side of the building, we did not have much of a view from our room. We looked out on a high rise apartment building. If a veiw is important to you, you may want to request a room on the front side of the building. I'm not sure what their veiw was like, but it had to be better than ours. My one complaint would have to be the beds. They were not very comfortable. I have back problems and I'm very sensitive to the whole bed issue. I was pleased with the area that the hotel was located in. It was a mainly business area, with restaurants, a movie theater, and the metro stop all within walking distance. The walk is up a steep hill, so keep that in mind if you plan on doing some walking. The hotel is also very close to the sights of Washington DC. A Quick trip over the bridge brings you to the national mall, the monuments, and the Arlington National cemetary. Over all, I'd have to say if you want to plan a trip to the DC area, but are short on cash, this would be a wonderful hotel choice for you.

It was a nice change and a great stay. it was in walking distance of the metro. We never moved our car out of the parking, we rode the Metro for 4 days and had a great time. It was also nice not to have a parking fee. I would bring my family again.Thankyou
