| This hotel is in a great area with views of the bay and the bridges! Excellent food and very nice staff. Upscale so expect to pay for the services.

| This is a classy hotel, with beautiful public areas, and fine restaurants with spectacular views. There is also an upscale spa and upscale shops. The lobby areas are very pleasant places to hang out in. We've stayed at this hotel 4 or 5 times over the last four years, while our daughter was an undergraduate at UC Berkeley. The lowest price rooms are a bit iffy. Last weekend, we had a lowest price non-smoking room that was plagued with an odd smoky or musty smell. The floor was also far from level, which gave the distinct impression of walking downhill as we crossed the room. When we've stayed at the next higher level room, we have not experienced these problems and have been thoroughly delighted.

| very old facility that is living on its prior glory and over-priced with the alledged superior room from expedia overlooking the air conditioning condenser just below our window view of the lower roof....

| The hotel was nice enough, but the "Classic" room was not impressive and the view was horrible. The hotel seems to cater more to the locals who join the club and use the pool and other facilities. The majority of the staff was unfriendly. For the price I expected a lot more. This was my first and last visit.

| Given that this was listed as a 4 star hotel, I was surprised that my room was little more than an alcove overlooking (and hearing) the air conditioning unit and dumpster out back. The room was small, narrow, and very uninspiring. I did call to the front desk and they moved me to a better room. But that room had garbage from the previous guest in the wastebasket (discarded foodstuff). Again, for a 4 star hotel, this was surprising. The hotel lobby and grounds were wonderfully unique....but I would not stay there again nor recommend this hotel to others.

| Very comfortable. Paragon Bar was really fun. It would have been nice to get a morning newspaper.

| Poor service - over priced. Stay home for the day not much interesting about this place unless you are staying for a firends wedding.
