One of the best run facilities I have experienced. Only problem was the slow time of bags to room from an "army" of bellhops.

This hotel is probably the most expensive in the salt lake valley, but it is close to TRAX so you can get around town pretty easily. It is a bit overpriced for what you get, but if you have a lot of money or want to splurge, then this is a great place to stay.

Like another reviewer, our only complaints are the $10 surcharge for the fitness center (which is fantastic) and the $1 charge for each local call, especially when paying a pretty penny for the room. None the less, the Holding Companies rarely miss a detail. We travelled with our two young children, 5 and 7, and the staff was fantastic. The hotel is right beside the train station, which makes travelling around the downtown area a cinch.

From our initial greeting by the jolly English doorman this was by far the most impressive and most reasonably priced hotel experience I have ever had. The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are lovely. Five star service and amenities at three star prices.

The Grand America Hotel is truly a five-star luxury accommodation. Built for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, this hotel surpasses any other in Salt Lake City in terms of quality, luxury, and service. It is easily accessible from the airport (freeway entrance/exit closeby) and the newly-built light rail system runs right in front of the hotel, allowing visitors without a rental car easy access to downtown. The decor inside the hotel is classic and beautiful. The bar/tea room in the lobby is gorgeous and comfortable. Artwork throughout the hotel is top-notch and tasteful. Our room was not huge but easily large enough for two people. The one feature that didn't match up with other five-star hotels we've stayed in is the bathrooms. While they are very nice, they were not very large, but they made up for that by putting an additional sink and mirror into the open area that also served as the "closet" (hanging bar with suitcase stands - an open area in the hallway to the bathroom). Overall, very nice hotel that I hope will stay in business... it wasn't very busy when we stayed there and I've heard they have had problems filling the hotel in spite of the great luxury you get for the price.
