| Just came back 6/06 had a great time, beautiful beach, great service, the hotel very clean. The food was OK not much variety. Plenty of activities for everyone. The night shows were good. If you don't speak Spanish not a problem, plenty of people that do. Definately would go back. Recommend bringing $1.00 for tipping.

| We visited the Allegro Punta Cana in April 2006. It was our first time staying at an all-inclusive resort and we enjoyed it immensely! The hotel offered something for everyone, even during the 36 hours of rain! Another reviewer commented on it being noisy... we were in a back room overlooking beautiful tropical gardens (instead of pool or beach) and it was very quiet. The food was plentiful and different, feeding picky young eaters is a little challenging. Make dinner reservations the day you arrive. The specialty restaurants are very good and book fast. Overall, we were very happy with our choice of this hotel!

| We just returned from our stay 5/29-6/03. Worse than we expected...all the good reviews we thought we'd give it a try and save money too! Boy, we were wrong!!! 3-1/2 stars seems too high of a standard compared to other resorts we stayed at... Prior to our stay, we req a refrig for the room..upon arrival, front desk knew nothing abt this...2-1/2 hours later and 3 phone calls to front desk, we recvd it!!Housekeeping gave us a gallon jug of water that had foam in it..tip: make sure cap is sealed! Food quality/taste was poor! Not many selections for Americans. Pool was cloudy most of stay..finally was cleaned in time for the weekend rush..loads of families/kids from the Dominican Rep...not enjoyable for couples..esp those on their honeymoon. Sure, they have a kid section of the pool but they wanted the deep end! Need privacy for adults! Also, need to train workers to speak and understand English...

| The customer service at hotel was way below standard. From recommendations for dining to errors in billing at check out, this so called resort does not deserve even a first look by would be tourists. As reviewed by other guests, the food was indeed below par, with dinner items from the buffett showing up at the next days breakfast to mediocre quality through out the entre selections, there are much better places to go.

| Our family recently returned from the Punta Cana Allegro. The staff were warm and friendly. There were a number of activities to keep travellers busy if you are so inclined. The pool was great. Make sure you get your chairs reserved early. The beach is small but very pretty. Again reserve your seat early. Be careful when leaving your towel to reserve a beach chair. Ours was stolen. The food was fair at best. Luckily the pizza and burgers at lunch were good. The specialty restaurants were not great and the buffet is okay. It is a nice quiet place to stay but I didn't gain any weight

| We went for a short weekend just to get away from the DC traffic. This is a great hotel if you are young (alot going on all the time). The bars were everywhere so you never had to walk far. The cocktail drinks were kind of watered down but that was okay because it just meant you could drink 20 of them. There is a lot of noise when other reviews said you could hear a lot going on in the hall they were telling the truth. We don't mind noise and can sleep through it but it seemed amplified by the hallways. The grounds were maintained great and the staff was excellent. The beach was everything I imagined and more and the water was warm.

| The Allegro is a nice place to go and have fun. The staff is friendly and warm, the food is plentiful, mostly all local food. If you like to eat grilled fish or fish dishes and to try local rice and vegetable dishes, you will like it. The resort is a bit tired, however, and could use renovations--we had to change rooms because the safe was missing its mechanism! The curtains could use changing as well...little details like this need some attention. It is, however, a very good value and we left satisfied. It's nice for families, especially, and we liked the international flavor--people from all over the world stayed there.

The staff was helpful and as friendly as they could be. I don't speak spanish so it was a little difficult but still good. Just thinking about now I get happy.

| For a relaxing vacation on the beach or at the pool, with activities at the resort, this is the place to stay. The staff was great - would suggest (but not needed) that you learn some phrases in Spanish, like "good morning", "hello", "two beers please". The food was good, plentiful and always available. The sunset horse ride is worth the money, just talk to Pedro who was very helpful. This was a great trip and we will be returning.

| There are many things to do with the kids that are included in the price of the room (snorkling, kayaking, scuba diving lessons and daycare). There are also thing that you can do without leaving the resort that cost extra (parasailing and massages on the beach). There are nightly shows that are over by 11pm so it wasn't as noisy as I had thought that it was going to be. The only noise was around 7am, everyone in the hotel would get up to reserve there beach/pool chairs and you could hear the doors slamming to their rooms. Needless to say, get your chairs early!

Also, I was disappointed by the bathroom. The water pressure was not good and we had a broken toilet seat which was annoying. Otherwise, the rest of the experience was good.

| It was our first time in the Dominican and I don't think we will go back. Our room wasn't ready for a long time, and when we did get it, it was ant infested and the majority of the lights did not work. As for food, it's horrendous with dishes such as "bananas with onion" for breakfast. If you're a picky eater, I'd say stay away from the Dominican. The entertainers were wonderful, which is what made the trip a good time. The beach was pretty as was the pool. I think most of the resorts in Punta Cana are the same as this one. So if you just want to relax in the sun and you can stand bad food and things never ever being on time, go for it.

The buffets in the dining room was much much more to our liking then going out to the "resturants". Loved the buffet they served at the beach dining location for lunch. Water great and beach stunning. You can't beat it for the price!!! I would go back in a heart beat!

| The staff was very friendly and helpful. The safe in our room was defective. We notified the front desk and they offered us another room without hesitation.Almost everyone spoke english reasonably well. The food in the main restaurant varies each day. It was plentiful and delicious. The specialty restaurants offered less variety. Every dish we tried was above average and the wait staff provided excellent service throughout our dinner. There was always some activity going on. The beach was clean and generally a bit more quiet than the pool area. The hour-long horseback ride along the beach was worth the extra cost and so was the ATV and Go-cart excursions.

| Where shall I start? I am shocked that the Allegro is considered a four star hotel. When we arrived at the facility we had to wait quite some time to get our room and when we did, there was no remote control or blankets in the room. I called guest services several times before I had to physically go and get the items myself. The rooms were mediocre at best; there was mold in the bathrooms and no shower door which caused flooding in the room. The walls between the rooms were extremely thin so I was lucky enough to hear the man in the room adjacent blowing his nose in the middle of the night. The food was not my idea of excellent cuisine, epsecially because the fish wasn't cleaned properly. The breads and rolls were usually stale or dry because of the humidity. There were several "speciality restaurants" on premisis but we were unable to get reservations. The hotel staff did very little to accomdate its overbooked hotel. We were basically told it was "tough" that we could eat in a restaurant. Luckily, after several days of arguing, an expedia.com representative helped us to get a reservation. To top it all off, we were constantly harassed by different sight seeing companies to use their services.

| We loved this resort. We went for our honeymoon and had a great time. Food and drinks were excellent and plentiful. Staff did a pretty good job of speaking four languages: Spanish, English, German, and French. Most guests seemed to speak Spanish or German as their primary language and English as their secondary. We were one of the few tipping bartenders, etc, and seemed to get extra-special service. When the locals in the white shirts approach you within the resort, trying to sell you "something extra", just tell them that you've already purchased it and/or heard the pitch. For example: "I only need 1 hour of your time and then you can get a free T-shirt.""Already have the free T-shirt." Also, m

| If you're looking for peace & quite this is not the place to go. There is alot of activity from morning til night. The beds have been used/wornout. If you're on the first floor forget it you will hear everything including your neighbors getting in late two rooms down. Nightcap is a must to sleep. The BATHROOM spacey & clean with a portable head shower. All availbale to you: Blow dryer, iron, iron board, umbrella, TV, safe, phone, clock, & fridge. No dresser in the room, just the closet & shelves. The ROOM SERVICE was distrubing to be limited to towels & toilet paper & we had to ask for facial towels. The POOL & BEACH AREA Get there early for sunshade, cabanas & seats. They go fast! The entertainment crew was very active with watersports/games & excersie both for kids & adults & spoke various languages. The sand was beautiful clean fine & white. There was seaweed that washed ashore but was cleaned daily! The water was clean & warm. Water sports are available. Going topless is very common. Activity very loud with music played daily. THE FOOD well, lets just say, You are at a resort, whatelse were you expecting. good and bad days! The RESTUARANTS Seafood was good but also had it's days! I've had better as far as the resturants go! There is a night club on site which is okay. At night there is a daily show for both kids & adult & awards are given to those who particiated in the daily activities & won. THE BIG QUESTIOIN? Would I go back? YES

| We just returned from the Allegro (Feb 19-25) with 4 and 6 yr old boys and we had a great time! The staff was all very friendly, especially to the kids! We speak some spanish, but didn't notice anyone having any problems if they didn't (most speak some english). We only ate at the buffet as the restaurants were fully booked (take care of reservations ASAP to get one!). We all found stuff to eat - and the snack bars added variety. Morning noise not an issue for us - we were up early. We were in bldg 7 facing the show so after the kids were in bed we could watch for a while but we were ALL in bed asleep by 9pm each night - we were tired enough not to be bothered by the noise! Poolside chairs go very early in the morning (7am). Lots of activities - kids club was nice, they made lots of friends. We left a few $$ and chocolate for maid service as reviews suggested and our room was always in great shape!! We were all sad to leave and return to the snow....loved it!!

| I enjoyed the Allegra Punta Cana and felt that I got a good deal for the money, however the thing that stood out most in my mind was the noise quality. The noise at night and in the morning was bad. This was the thorn in my side. The walls are thin and you can hear doors slamming in the am hours and muffled voices. If you choose to go to bed before 11pm, you are in trouble. The nightly show is going on and is so loud you can't help but hear the noise. I was very irritated by this and would have to say I enjoyed everything else, but the fact that it was hard to rest when I wanted to rest was the KILLING POINT for me. The activities, shows, food, spa and decor were all good. The spa was a separate building to the resort, but it was nice and service was good. The resturants weren't fabulous, but I found I could always find something I enjoyed in the buffet. The tennis staff was fun and I had a great time playing tennis and doing the activities. The staff was friendly, but most people spoke little english and I found that a challenge.
