| A roadside hotel from the Route 66 heyday, the Silver Moon makes a good alternative to pricey downtown chain hotels. Close enough to both conference center and to Old Town. Nice, helpful staff offered excellent visitor tips. Only criticism is that the room wasn't squeaky clean -- the coffee pot was filthy. Nonetheless, I'd still recommend this place.

| Exteriors, lobby, and restaurants looked great. Up close, however, the filth in the room was revolting. It seemed that things had not been cleaned in quite a while. Even when we asked to have the room vacuumed, there was no sign of it being done. This could be a charming retro Rt 66 motel; instead it is an example of the worse or even non-existant housekeeping style. Outside walkways were littered with used,q-tips. Bathroom tile splattered, black fingerprints on doorways and shower curtain. Coffee service never cleaned or refilled in 4 days. Messages were never delivered to the room. I could go on and on.

| I stayed here while in ABQ for an academic conference. Convenient walking distance to the convention center and restaurants -- including good coffee and good microbrew beer!; spacious, comfortable, quiet room; very pleasant and competent staff; airport pickup service -- all for a very affordable rate... and on top of it all, the place has great character!

| The best part of my stay was the airport pick-up. The driver was quick and friendly. From there things went downhill. The Lodge seemed weary and worn, my room had not been vacuumed, and the decor was, well, bleak. I really, really wanted to like this place but just couldn't.
