| The Churchill Hotel was a very beautiful hotel to stay at. It was a short walk to the Metro Line and walking distance from many nice night spots. However, the service had a lot to be desired. The maids forgot to do little things, such as a new ice container, emptying trash, and a couple other things. Upon check-in, the hotel rushed through the process because we arrived later at night, and due to their rushing, we were locked out of our room for a little while on our last day because they didn't enter our stay-time correctly. Room service was a little more overpriced than most other hotels, and the food was mediocre. Overall, a nice hotel and we got an awesome deal through Expedia.

| The air conditioning was not functioning. We complained and were told that maintenace would come check it. We complained the next night. The desk clerk came up twice that time and agreed that it wasn't working. She brought 2 fans to the room to help. It was never fixed. The carhop parked the front of my car into the embankment and got mud all over the grill. They took the parking charges off for that after I complained. I was not happy at all with the level of service provided. The restaurant was extrememly slow and unorganized as well. The accomodations were eye pleasing. The price was comparable.

| After staying there twice, I would highly recommend this hotel. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants, yet quiet. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Amenities very well thought out - even extra towels without asking! Would love to stay there on a vacation! It is also no more than other hotels that are far less desirable to stay in.

| This is a great hotel in a wonderful area. I lived in DC for 4 years and Dupont Circle was one of my favorite places to visit. It is a fabulous place to stay. The Metro is a block away. We parked our car at my relative's house and got everywhere we needed to by Metro or walking.

| The Churchill was a great place to stay in the heart of D.C. It was close to the Metro, the staff was extremely helpful, the rooms were clean and unique, for the price, you can't really ask for more. It was also more personable than chain hotels I've stayed at, and if you appreciate older architecture than you will appreciate this hotel.

| The hotel's staff was moderately helpful, when we asked for directions to a restaurant where they made the reservations, they were unsure how to get there. The rooms were spacious with comfortable beds. The room cleaning service forgot to stock us with clean towels and we had to go in search for some in order to shower in the morning. Room service did leave water bottles in the room every time they cleaned at no additional expense to us. The soda machines were completely empty during our entire visit, the only beverages that could be purchased were from the lounge at an expensive price.

| I stayed at the Churchill Hotel over the Memorial Day weekend. It was very nice. The building is somewhat dated but part of charm is that it isn't a cookie cutter hotel. I received an upgraded room so I got more than I paid for. The hotel is nicely located. I had a car but should have skipped it. Four blocks away is Dupont Circle with many dining choices. It also has a Metro stop which allows you to get most "tourist" locations in DC. I would certainly return if I was making a similar trip to Washington.

| You won't remember the Churchill Hotel after you leave it or rave about it to your friends back home if you stay on vacation. It's a middle-level hotel that does the basic things right: the rooms are clean and good sized, the beds are comfortable, everything works and the staff are pleasant. It's also in a good location if you want to be close to the bars and restaurants in Dupont Circle.

| I was a bit dissapointed. I'd asked for a King and was given two twins. There was a funny, bare and sad little room off the bedrooom that was supposed to be the study. The decoration was bland. The cocktail waiter seemed very confused by anything other than beer - I couldn't tell if my martini was gin or vodka - it was supposed to gin. When I ordered coffee in the morning, they first asked if I'd like a machine sent up to the room and then said it woudl take about half an hour... George Bush's Washington - what do you expect?

| Was impressed to find an 'independent' and 'historical' hotel at such a good price in the city. The service was polite, the rooms spacious and clean, and it was located near a bunch of cafes around Dupont Circle. It was also within easy access of Georgetown as well. Only problem is the rather expensive parking rate; if you are able, try to find parking on the street (which we learned is free on weekends and not too hard to find if you have a litte patience).

| I booked this room after doing LOTS of research on Trip advisor and other sites. We were 3 adults and needed a suite situation with a king size bed and a pull out sofabed. The Churchill was the best and most economical option. The room was HUGE-- especially by big east coast city standards. The staff was friendly. My only complaint is that there was no coffee maker in the room and when we called down to ask for one, it was promised but never showed.

| The hotel was very nice. However, the parking situation was not. I did not pre-buy a spot with the valet, and when I arrived their parking was full. They provided very little help in finding parking in the area and after a long trip, that is unacceptable. I was very angry at the lack of help provided. On another note however, the hotel was very nice and the bed was very comfortable.

| Given the price for the reservation (especially relative to other hotels in DC), I was pleasantly to surprised to find this comfortable, spiffy establishment staffed by friendly professionals. The only caution is that Valet parking is the only option offered (there is no self-service lot) and it costs an extra $25 or so a day. So one must take that into account when pricing or else try to find street parking (no easy task). Still, it's worth the extra cost for convenience and security and doesn't make the overall price any less competetive with other establishments. Room service is reliable (and pricey, of course) but not especially impressive, which is not a problem considering the myriad of dining options in walking distance. Also within a comfortable walk of the hotel are two red-line Metro stops (Dupont Circle, Woodley Park) and the National Zoo.

| We booked this hotel without really knowing what we would find but it was close to Dupont Circle which was one of the ares friends suggested we check out. We arrived to find a hotel with an old world charm and traditional old world service as well. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was quite the surprise for the price. It's a well kept older hotel close to a couple of up and coming areas. Shops and restaurants are in abundance with quite the night life as well, all within a 4 to 6 block area. Cabs were in abundance but the fares are a real challenge. They have this whole "zone" thing going. Even at that, all of the monuments are only a $10.00 fare away and most of the drivers were quite the pleasure to deal with. If there were anththing to complain about it would be the $25.00 per day parking for my car and the temprature fluctuations in the shower (quite the surprise a times).
