| The Beacon Hotel was an average hotel not very well located. The best part of the hotel is the attached restaurant which was wonderful with excellent service. There is no pool, we were directed to the YMCA. Rooms are large and quiet. If we return to DC we would look for a hotel closer to the attractions.

| Arrived at the hotel after check-in time and got my room right away. Unfortunately the front desk mistakenly gave me a standard instead of the studio I had purchased. I was rudely told that the correct room was not clean yet (at 3:30 in the afternoon?) and that I needed to return in an hour. This was the only problem we had for four nights. The studio room was large and clean. Appointments were updated. Kitchenette was very nice. Full sized fridge, stove top, microwave, pots and pans, but only dishware and silverware for two. Bathroom was nice, but VERY small. Pedastal sink meant no counter space. Shower barely large enough for one. Good location. About 5 blocks to Metro. Lots of restaurants nearby. Definitely one of the nicer DC hotels I've stayed in.

| Hotel room was far larger than expected. A concern with double-charging of internet use was quickly and efficiently fixed. When reception was asked for change (in quarters) for laundry facilities, the staff fished around in their pockets for spare change - you'd think they'd have a cash register or cash box?! Good location for access to subway or a day's walk around seeing the major tourist points. Overall, quite impressed and would stay again.

| I think this is as good as it can get for a 2 star hotel in the area. The room was clean, the wireless network worked, the included breakfast (bagels, cheap pastries, cereal, bread, grocery store waffles) was not so cheap and the hotel in general in good condition. A few elements in the bathroom could use repair (the towel hanger could be pulled off the wall), but overall a good deal.

| Beacon Hotel was conveniently located to the downtown area. Not a huge hotel, it was comfortable and well maintained. The room was clean and very comfortable for one. The restaurant and bar were inviting and comfortable for one person dining alone. The food was surprisingly outstanding! I would defintely return there and will recommend it to others.

| Beacon is located between the Whitehouse and Dupont Circle. If you walk, the streets are well lit and always busy. If you like the Metro, there are several stops within blocks of the hotel. Only negative item about my room is that the air conditioner was not sufficient to cool my room because of the sun (on east side)-- might try getting a room on the west side of the building.

| Great location on Scott Circle--easy to Dupont Circle, Logan Circle, the White House and various K Street locales. Rooms are large and updated, bathrooms small. High-speed internet connection was fast and reliable. Check-in was a little rough because not enough staff were on duty. The pillows are horrible and the beds undistinguished. I got a reasonable price and would gladly stay there again.

| This is a nice hotel at a great location. The only thing that seemed odd was the fact that the valet parking service was extremely slow and inefficient. Don't expect to see your car quickly, so call at least 1/2 hour before you expect to drive off the block to have them get your car ready. When I mentioned the slowliness of the service to the attendant, I got a snoody, disrespectful response. If I had a say, I would not employ such individuals at a position that is exposed to client contact, because it may leave an unfavorable impression with an otherwise excellent hotel.

For the price, the place was a like a beautiful suite you would see only in a high life-style type magazine. If you get a chance to stay here, request room 825, for it has a great panoramic view of the local neighborhood. I will always stay at this hotel on my trips to D.C.

| I needed a hotel in the Dupont Circle/Embassy area of Washington for a night before driving my sister and brother-in-law to Baltimore the next day for a large family reunion. They had been staying at a luxury hotel in that area, and I wanted to meet them for dinner and a show that night and then pick them up the next day, so I made little use of the Beacon's facilities for dining, etc. The doormen were so informed and helpful that I didn't need the concierge for information or advice about how to get where quickly, or good suggestions for where to meet my sister for dinner near the theater, etc. The hotel is either new or recently redone because everything looked very bright and new, and the room was well-equipped, attractive and comfortable, with even a nice view. And reasonably priced. Excellent valet parking.

| My wife and I and our college-age son stayed one night, and we were very pleased with the Beacon. Washington tends to have "classier" hotels than some cities, and this is an excellent example. We had a studio room which was very comfortable and large. Only issue I can think of is that lobby is cramped. And the elevators are little, but that is so European.

The room service is the worst I have ever seen: you better bring your own soap... and you have to call them all the time to ask them to give you the things they have promised in their room description. Whatevever hotel you will choose, you are sure that it can only be better than this one.

| Overall a good hotel-Enjoyed it far more than the really oversized mega hotels in Washington--If you are a tourist it might be a little off the beaten track but cabs are cheap enough in DC-In house restaurant was good. The spaces within the dining room were intimate so you did not feel you were in a large cavern. We had either late dessert or appetizers with cocktails and were happy with quality and service. The only downside was that the heating system was a little on the noisey side.
