| The hotel was very comfortable with very friendly staff. Everyone there made us feel very welcome and safe. There is a policy to not let anyone not checked into the hotel into the rooms, which is a very good security factor. Even though we had a streetside room, it was very quiet and the quick walk to the Malecon and the fun happening downtown made the Pescador perfect for us. Why pay for cabs when you can make it just as easy to walk? I will definitely be back.

| If you want to visit REAL Mexico, El Pescador is the place to stay at Puerto Vallarta. They have a great pool, it's located on the beach where the locals swim, they have an inexpensive bar with killer pina coladas, and a nice restaurant. It is located where many of the tourist attractions are within easy walking distance, as well as restaurants and a large grocery. The rooms are large and decent, but nothing fancy -- this is real Mexico. I found the desk personnel very helpful. I had purchased the roundtrip transportation between the airport and hotel and was never picked up, despite a couple of phone calls to the expedia people, and they got me a taxi so I wouldn't miss my return flight.

| Hotel is old but is kept clean under the circumstances but that doesn't mean there isn't mould in the showers and the toilets only plush about every fifth time. Air con doesn't work it comes on and blows air that's all. The beds and pillows were as hard as the concrete floor. Restaurant was value for money. Pool area is good however be warned the hotel caters for locals parties and can get very noisy. Best thing about the hotel is the location.

| El Pascador was clean, somewhat comfy, but not very roomy. The queen sized bed were as hard as the floor, and we weren't impressed with the food at the hotel restaurant. Pool was good, shower hot, and front desk spoke enough English for us to understand most of what they said. On the beach, and near The Zoo, Hilo, and Carlos Obrians.

| I was so happy with this hotel! For the price it was amazing! My room overlooked the ocean and was very clean and everything I needed was there. The staff was very nice and helpful. The location was great, near local taco joints, a supermarket, and a great cabana restaurant/bar.

| My friend and I went to PV for 5 nights and stayed here. At first we were worried it wouldn't be very nice, but it was great for the price. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we had a room with an ocean view that was amazing. The pool is kinda small but it overlooks the ocean and you can walk to the beach. The restaurant in the hotel had a smaller menu but it was good food and drinks. The only room for improvement would be the beds are kind of hard and some noise travels between rooms (not much worse than the average hotel). The hotel location was great too, next to the beach and about a block from the boardwalk.

| We got such a great deal it is hard to complain, but the rooms were not very nice. The hotel is a good deal and is clean. The pool and beach are great. We would stay again if on a tight budget. It is a nice location, walking distance to the boardwalk.

| Ask for ocean view when writing in comments for reservations. This hotel is perfect for young couples, families and older adults. The only thing is that the beds are sooo hard, and I can sleep anywhere...but wow. The location is the best, you are within walking distance to everything. I really recommend going to Eden, we drove and was beautiful...takes about 45 min.

| A very satisfactory and enjoyable experience. In a great location: on the beach and within walking distance to the center of town. It is definitely on our list for a return visit. A good value. Bathrooms are basic and should be updated. Oceanside rooms are preferable to those facing the street.

| Not the fanciest hotel in Puerto Vallarta, but comfortable and close to everything. The bathroom had a strange smell and the room didn't get cleaned the four days we stayed there. The maid did bring clean towels when we asked for them. All the staff were very gracious. Our room wasn't ready until 2 hours past check-in time, but the pool area and beach are nice so the time passed pleasurably.

| My friends and I had a great time there. The rooms were simple yet beautiful. The maids clean the rooms everyday and the bellboys are extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel to the malecon was also ideal. Overall it was a excellent stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone thats not looking to spend to much money.

| I was only in PV for the weekend (2 nights), and we stayed here. It's walking distance to bars and clubs downtown. The ocean isn't that spectacular, but I live in San Diego, so I have the same ocean. It was cheap, so that left us more money to party, which is what we were there for. If trying to "vacation" or on a romantic trip, I would stay outside of town.

| I was greatly impressed with El Pescador. It is located very close to downtown which is where you will find most of the excitement at Puerto Vallarta. Also, it is located on one street away from the downtown strip, which means you can escape from peddlers if you want. It is one of Puerto Vallarta's oldest hotels, so it has a more classic look, which I liked. Our room balcony overlooked the ocean which was amazing. THe service is excellent and clerks speak both English and Spanish. I would definitely recommend this hotel for travelers who want to spend the right amount of money!!! I would not have gone anywhere else.

| The hotel is rated correctly at two and a half stars. The accommodations are adequate. The employees are friendly and helpful. The ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not necessary. The major advantage for the hotel is the location. It is right by the beach, two blocks from the Malecon (Boardwalk). It is a short walk to the clubs, shops and restaurants. It's a very nice, economical hotel.
