The Cotton Exchange is a nice hotel, perfect for a weekend on Bourbon St. It's a 1-2 min walk from Bourbon, convenient to the French Quarter, etc. Our room wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't terrible either. We weren't there for the room though.

The hotel is convenient to many of New Orleans' attractions. The staff was Very friendly and very helpful. Our room was very clean, and well supplied. The room (and bathroom) were a little small, but we spent most of our time touring the city, so it wasn't that bad.

Pretty little room and in a great location! It is close to the French Quarter, but not too close to the rowdiness and noise of the Quarter. I liked the proximity of the hotel to the bus & trolley lines, too. I would definitely stay here again.

The reason I rated a number 2 on the comfort of our room and overall satisfaction is because of the room temperature. It was hard to get the room cool. Overall it was a nice hotel and very convenient. I would definetly stay here again.

The Cotton exchange hotel is located about a 5 min. walk from the riverwalk / conv. center area and is also about two block from Bourbon street. The location is convenient and the rooms are comfortable. The proximity to the quarter brings some noise with it. The potential for noise and lack of a restaurant are the biggest drawbacks. Overall, this is a fair reasonably priced option whit pretty comfortable rooms, and easy to get back to after enjoying bourbon street

I was very impressed with this hotel. It is in walking distance to most things, espically Bourbon Street. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was VERY accomidating. The pool is pretty small, and only about four feet deep, although the pool area is very nice and clean. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in!

I was disappointed in the hotel. There was a pool close by my room and people were hanging out there smoking, drinking beer out of coolers and letting their children yell for hours. The room wasn't too clean. The staff was rather cool and not very welcoming. Overall, there are much better choices in New Orleans. The location is good, but that's about all and it's not a good value for the money.

The hotel is only 1 1/2 blocks from Bourbon Street, so you are far enough away for it to be quiet, and close enough to walk anywhere! The streetcar line is up the block, across the street is an excellent coffee shop (The Royal Blend) and the pool is very nice, and secluded. We had a great time!

Hotel was in a great location. Close to the Quarter and one block from the St. Charles street car. The only complaints I had were the thin walls and the phone and safe charges tacked on to the bill at check out. Apparently, in New Orleans there is a mandatory charge for these items regardless of use. It totaled about $30 for four days. Other than that...stay there.

All in all a wonderful hotel, and unbelievable value. If you need to get to bed early, probably not the place for you. The walls are paper thin, so I heard every sound from the hallway and the neighboring room. Rooms ending in 01 are right next to the ice machine, so beware.

This is one of those places that causes horror stories. When I checked in they gave me a room where the previous occupants had not checked out. After getting an unoccupied room I unpacked and tried to get on the internet. After 3 calls they finally admitted that there was no internet in that room. Why didn't they tell me on the first call? They offered to move me to another room, but having already unpacked I declined. Later as I passed through the lobby I overheard the receptionist saying "well we could move you to another room"Recomended for Masocists

The Cotton Exchange Hotel is located just outside the French Quarter. Interestingly, its lobby connects to the Holiday Inn Express next door; elevators can be shared. One elevator was out of service (out of three). Parking is a problem in New Orleans; this hotel offers valet parking, a plus (but its cost is not included with room charge. Room was clean and adequate, the bed was comfortable, but the view was unimpressive. For some reason, the exterior wall is about three feet thick, so room could have been larger. The hotel staff was attentive and pleasant. Pool on sixth floor. No restaurant on premises.

The front desk staff was not friendly or welcoming. The cleaning crew was wonderful and helpful. The manager was also helpful. When we went to check in (one hour after the time specified for check in) we were told our room was not ready and we would have to leave our belongings in the hotel lobby. We were not about to leave our belongings in the lobby so we spoke to the manager. He placed us in a room immediately.

The hotel is a recently renovated older building. Some of the rooms do not have exterior windows. The employees were very pleasant, friendly, and eager to be of assistance. There were no hidden charges or unexpected expenses. New Orleans has very difficult parking issues so expect to pay for parking. The hotel has valet parking for about $20 a night. Very short walk to the French Quarter. Excellent economical choice.
