If you are looking for a home away from home this is the spot. Each condo is privately owned so each one has it's own personality. The grounds are meticulously kept and the beach feels like your own. everything you need is across the street or a few miles down the road. We liked it so much we have already made our plans to return in the spring.

You get what you pay for. Been in other condo/timeshares in Kauai that feld and looked "cleaner" and less grimy. Refrigerator was rusty and did not maintain its coolness.

We had a great week at the resort. Very peaceful and quiet. I kept waiting to hear roosters as some other reviews had talked about but never heard a single one. Short walk to the beach and one of the better surf spots on the southern tip of the island. Kauai is beautiful and we are already planning our next trip back.

The condos were clean and nice. The beds of course (I find this everywhere in Hawaii!!!) were hard, the pillows were flat and the sofa bed a nightmare....Why don't they put foam pads on the beds? Other than that, the place was nice. Located across the highway from a shopping mall where we had the best dessert "Hula Pie" at a place with a outdoor eating area. I forget the name, but it is in the coupon book you get on arrival at the condo. People were great and Kauai is so beautiful. You smell floweres all the time. The pool is across the street, but we were in the ocean the whole time, so didn't check it out. Worth the $ and had a great stay. (not long enough) Will go back.

If you have to summarize everything into one single word, then it has to be: perfect. We had an oceanview-room and even if you didn't see the ocean from the ground floor, you could hear the sea. And you had to go 1 min. only to be on the beach. The terrace went directly to a large green area which gave you the impression to have more space - and you can use the lawn for playing or sunbathing, too. The rooms are more like an appartment (because of the size). They are large and fully equipped (especially the condo where you can find most of the daily stuff you need). The whole hotel area with its rather small buildings (most of them include 6 appartments) is wonderful - leavy, full of flowers, palms and birds. Close to the hotel you can find a shopping area which also includes a small supermarket. Daily cleaning of the room, towels for the beach, a lot of sports activities. Really the perfect place to relax and enjoy your holidays!

The hotel was great. We stayed for 6 nights. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the kitchen was useful. The one time we ate at the hotel restaurant, it was excellent (and slightly expensive). It is 30 seconds from a nice beach. To snorkel, we had to drive at least five minutes away, although I hear that there is a decent snorkling beach just around one of the points. The best snorkling is on the North Shore, by the way. My only complaint is that, because there was no air conditioning, we had to leave the window slats open the whole time. It was just cool enough like that, and the screens kept the pests out, but not the noise. There were roosters and other birds, squealling tires, loud motorcycles, and noisy sprinkler systems for much of the night. You might want to bring earplugs. There's a grocery store in Koloa, 10 minutes away. Snorkel Bob's, also in Koloa, is a great place to rent gear.

What a great choice: fantastic location, magnificent island! After using Expedia, we took a chance on visiting this lovely island and this resort. The older style, but well maintained, buildings are set in gardens which are breathtaking and greatly add to the spaciousness and ambience. After a hiccup with our booking was sorted ( to more than our satisfaction) we had a wonderful week. Who could give up the chance to swim with turtles and enjoy such well cared for surroundings?

The unit we stayed was very spacious and clean (2 bedroom/2 bathroom). Had a nice garden view and partial ocean view. Overall it was nice. However, since the unit was facing the main road, those who are sensitive to noise may be annoyed by the traffice noise, especially during the night. Since the unit doesn't have A/C, you need to open the windows. You may also hear neighbors voice quite well (especially those who speak loud), because most of the guests keep the windows open. I asked whether we can move to another unit away from the main road, but the person who handled my request was not very helpful (reluctantly checked the available units). She told me that all the garden view units are facing the main road so I gave up and decided to stay at the same unit. I would recommend this hotel to others only if staying at units away from the main road. Then you can enjoy quiet and peaceful stay, which most of us will expect in Kauai. Only sound you hear will be roosters crowing and birds chirping.

The units are right next to a street that the young kids street race and do burnouts late at night. The walls are super thin, so you hear noises from the people next door and also the Roosters all night long ! good luck sleeping. Also, I hope you don't mind the mosquitoes, because they come right through the screen in the windows.

We loved the hotel so much that we decided we will go back for our five year anniversary (we were married during our trip to Hawaii). The rooms were big with open lots of open space. They don't have air conditioning, but lots of shutters that keep the breezes moving. It is also located in the perfect part of the island. We didn't have much rain during the day, and could easily reach everything.

Room was beautiful, clean,v.well equipped, close to everything(we had all the time we needed,so....nothing was too far). Our own kitchen was superb. Three grocers very close helped make a home away from home. Overall facilities were V.nice though we did not eat at nearby restaurants. As close to Hawaiian as I wanted. The weather was good so I didnt long for AC, although there were c. fans in every room.Screens and shutter only. I think the rear slider was the only glass there. My bed was like a bundle of cotton though. That is probably not throughout as these are individually owned condos. The roosters always crow promptly in the am but not a prob.for me but my wife wanted to kill them for the first three days.(PMS?/LOL) We would go again in a heartbeat.I like enough to look into purchasing there at this facility.

My 3yr old son loved the slide in the swimming pool.It does drop into a 4.5 ft pool. The pool is across the street(Poipu st.) from the hotel

Great beach, better than anything I found on the North Shore. Had a partial ocean view, top unit (recommend top if you don't mind some stairs). No A/C is no problem, fans and ocean breezes make for comfortable nights. Birds are LOUD in the morning, took a couple days to get used to. Not the chickens (only saw a few on the grounds) but some other kind of crazy bird. Staff was very helpful and accomodating. Restaurant is good--try the pork.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Kiahuna Plantation. Location great; room comfortable and clean; view terrific - garden and partial ocean view. The gardens, grounds are beautiful. The location at Poipu is great. Easy to beach - really liked the green grounds right up to beach with chairs/towels complimentary. Definitely going back later this year. Expedia excellent to work with!

The walk to the beach from some of the more distant condos takes several minutes. The layout has substantial distance between buildings and the gardens are beautiful. The pool is located across the road - about a 5-15 minute walk from the condos. The rooms were in great shape and attractive.
