Although the room wasn't huge and the king size bed took up most of the space in the room it was very comfortable and very clean. The hotel is within walking distance to shopping, theater, Sears Tower, and Millennium park.

The Palmer House is a wonderful place to stay. The newly renovated rooms on the executive levels were very nice. Housekeeping, and hospitality services were outstanding. This hotel is in a good location for attractions, dining, and shopping. If you like to swim you may find the pool a bit small.

Staff is very accomodating and helpful. We had to make an unexpected visit to the hospital and the staff assisted us throughout the ordeal and even let us stay a while later after checkout time the next day so we could get organized and get some rest. I was very impressed - I felt they exceeded expectations.

Absolutely incredible! The lobby in grand and beautiful. The room was gorgeous! The overstuffed chairs and the beds were very comfortable. The marble floors were charming. We peeked at the Grand Ballroom and all I can say is WOW! The pool area was small but charming. Centrally located to many attractions and they even have a couple of wonderful restaurants with excellent food! It was like stepping back into another era where service and detail are expected.

The Palmer House Hilton was recently refurbished and it shows. The lobby is quietly elegant with high ceilings and intricate artwork and moldings. The staff was efficient and helpful and even cheerful. The hallways were wide and well lit and our upgraded room in the executive tower was spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished. It even had TWO bathrooms and a new type showerhead that I had not come across before - it has two sprayers on a looped lever that one can adjust for different heights. Also, being in the executive tower gave us access to the express lift that is only for the use of guests in that tower and certain floors. We also had a complimentary breakfast and appetizers in the late afternoon. Great place! MJ

My daughters and I stayed in the Palmer House Hilton over spring break in order to see two shows in the theatre district. The hotel is close to the theatres, also shopping and dining. We did have a problem with a very noisy party in the next room at 4:00 am; but the hotel staff sent security to their room immediately after I called them with the complaint. Be aware that the walls have absolutely no sound insulation in them at all! Room itself was comfortable and clean. A little pricey but it is downtown Chicago. Treat yourself to a stay~!

This is a wonderful, historic hotel. The hotel is excellently situated in the Loop, and has very easy access to the subway and redline. The bathroom is a little small, but the bed is very comfortable. The concierge is great, but make sure you check the times on the handouts they give you, they recommended a couple of restaurants that are closed on Saturday and Sunday.

After reading the reviews, we were a little bit afraid of getting an old, dirty and small room. But we arrived on Christmas eve and were very surprised to get an upgrade (without asking, probably because there weren't a lot of businessmen between Christmas and New Year) to the "Executive Level": we got a beautiful, huge room on the 22nd floor. We received free breakfast as well as free drinks during the whole day and some snacks between 5:00 and 7:00 pm. The service was extremely! We tried out the restaurant "French Quarter", wich was ok, but not worth its price. And of course there's the breathtaking lobby! We'll defintely go back there (and especially between Christmas and New Year!)

Hotel location was very central, easy to utilize public transportation. Rooms on the small side, but very clean. Staff was very friendly, concierge informational about local flavor. Great restaurants in the vicinity, and I strongly suggest a Chicago city card and a two day transportation pass if there for a weekend. Adult beverages in hotel bar are on the spendy side, I'd out source other drinking establishments. Beef and Brandy's great place for breakfast, right outside hotel doors and Millers Pub is very interesting. Enjoyed trip.

We spent a weekend in Chicago at the Palmer House. It's a wonderful location, we walked to shopping, concerts, dinner. The lobby was beautiful with a huge Christmas tree. Our room was fine, a bit small as we expected, but nicely decorated and clean. We ate dinner at the Trader Vics restaurant in the hotel, very good food, and a nice quiet atmosphere, which we liked. We found out the restaurant is closing soon and they will be remodeling the hotel and turning it into shops and condos! What a disapointment, since we would definitely go back if it was available.
