Positives: It was close to our planned activities and this is why we chose this hotel. The check-in was quick and the people friendly. The food was delicious and the service people courtesy and fast. Negatives: However, the elevators were very slow, the beds and pillows very hard and the airconditioner/heater did not work. There is no regular airport service.

I found the hotel to be in the best location for walking to the bowling plus they had a shuttle if I wanted. The only problem I had was my room was above the train tracks, the one at 3 A.M. woke us up, will ask for inside room next time . Limerick's was great for steak & sea food.

If you are just looking for a place to sleep and maybe take advantage of looser slot or two, then Fitzgeralds is the place. This is an older hotel and its amenities are as such. The elevator is slow, the carpet is old, and the rooms are decorated very plain. My biggest disappointment came when the showerhead would not point out, it was so worn that it fell down. The cleaning staff should have noticed that every time they were in there and had the maintenance department fix it before the room was rent out. Is it clean? Yes, just not new.

This hotel/casino has seen better days but the rooms are large, service is helpful, location is central and the price is right. Luxury it's not but for the price, I'm not sure it can be beat.

Overall, pretty average and outdated. I found the hotel comfortable and in a good location (close to other casinos and attractions) aside from being next to the train tracks. Our bathroom door lock was broken--the latch stayed in a lock position even when the knob was turned from inside--I was temporarily locked inside the bathroom for about 5 minutes until I wiggled the door and the lock came free. Upon notifying maintenance the problem was fixed right away within 30 minutes. The elevator was also really slow. The food was really good for the price. We had steak and eggs at 4:30 AM in the hotel cafe for $4.99! The Lord's Fitzgeralds Buffet was pretty good too. Some of the staff were rude and indifferent unless we were gambling (Something I don't do too much of). Beverage service while playing the slots was horrible. We did meet one server who was very friendly and accomodating which made up for the service we received from another server.

Stay away from this hotel - everything is old, dark and gloomy - I was scheduled to stay four nights, only stayed one and that was because I arrived late at night and was too tired to move to another property. The staff was nice, but the quality of the accomodations was poor!!

Fitzgeralds offers a clean and well run hotel in the middle of downtown. Many casinos and sights to see are within walking distance. And the hotel has good food choices, also.

All staff very accomodating---switched our room to south side to be away from train noise. enjoyed Mollys Garden cafe, ate most of our meals here. Prime Rib was great as well as prices @ the resturant on 3rd floor (sorry don't remember name), atomosphere great & quite, never know you were in casino. Have gambled in their casino & ate buffet here before but never knew about all the other restuarants. I'm definitely planning on having my bowling team stay here when we bowl nationals next year.

For being a hotel/casino, the hotel was not user friendly. I felt as though I was a criminal trying to cash a check and to only limit the amount to $300 for a hotel guest was an insult.

Overall, Fitzgerald's is not a bad place to stay, but if you're going there for a ski vacation, note that the parking structure is across the street with no direct walkway to the hotel/casino, so dragging skiing gear to and from the parking structure each day is a pain.
