| This hotel was the cheapest available and after staying there I think it was the best hotel in PV. The hotel staff where all friendly and the hotel was in good shape. Some of the rooms are nicer than others. Make sure if your room isnt that nice you complain and switch to a nicer room. The room we stayed in had a soundproof sliding glass door. Even though it was on the first floor and faced the busy street it was very quiet in the room. The hotel had a nice pool with ocean views. There restaurant was cheap and had a 2 for 1 happy hour from 5-7. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to wear a wristband and they where very strict on visitors. However that seemed to be the same with all the hotels I have been to in Mexico. It is directly accross from SR Frogs and directly in the middle of everything. Everything is walking distance.

| The good things about this hotel is the location. You can walk anywhere you want, or take the bus.Another good thing is that there are different restaurants and bars around to choose from. The hotel itself has happy hour and the drinks are pretty good. The bad things are that the beds are hard, there is no air conditioning, no iron, and take your own shampoo.Make sure you don't have a room facing the street because it will be noisy. Not good for light sleeper.

| If you are going as SpringBreaker to Vallarta, this hotel rocks, it's a few steps away from the Malecon and all the great night clubs the city has to offer. No front beach and small pool, but for the price ? Who cares ? The place is clean and well kept.

| The hotel was very clean and staff was great. The location was the best in the middle of everything walking distance to every bar, shop, or restaraunt you would need. The maid service was really great, and they even had a travel agent on staff to help plan tours or cruises. The price was unbeatable, I will definitley stay here next time i visit.

| Hotel Rosita is the first hotel built in PV (1948)quite historic. Located right at the beginning of the Malecon', it's in the midst of shopping, restaurants, clubs, banks and the beach. The restaurant serves tasty food and is reasonably priced. The service is slow and relaxed. If you are looking for speedy turnarounds, you must let your server know, otherwise, they will allow you to enjoy your meal and drinks in the ambience of a relaxed, stress free vacation mode. The pool area is small and gated to the beach, allowing for both options, but is secure. Hotel Rosita's lobby is open and the entrance is literally right at the edge of the Malecon'. Due to this, the security of the hotel is always managed discreetly, but completely. Once inside the hotel, it's like an oasis. If quiet, luxurious properties are what someone looks for, this wouldn't fit. The noise is from the surrounding downtown and to me sounded like vacation and life in the tropics. I had no challenges sleeping through the noise, but be aware it's not quiet, due to it's location. The city street and vacation sounds are continous. The room did not have a dresser for clothing. However, not overly limiting as there is a closet w/bench in which to store clothing. Most of the guests are those who only choose Rosita and are there year after year. Hotel Rosita has great employees. The intimate, yet sectional design of the hotel allowed for children being present, but not noisy. Would I stay there again? YOU BET!

| My twelve friends and I went on college Spring Break to Puerto Vallarta and if you want to be by the nightlife, this hotel is perfect. It is cheap and comfortable, although the hotel rooms facing the streets are really loud. Even on weekdays, the cobblestone streets make cars going by extra loud and it is hard to sleep. I would recommend oceanfront rooms, which I heard are quieter. The food at the hotel restaurant is pretty good, although the service is not the best. Two happy hours, 1-3 and 5-7, where you can get 2 for 1 drinks. An overall fun experience.

| This is the second time I have stayed at the Rosita. Excellent value for money is this old but well maintained well sitauted hotel. These bargain rooms are on the street side of the hotel (no beach or sea view) and on this occasion the noise was near intolerable. On my previous stay I was on the 2nd floor (noisy but tolerable). This time I spent 5 nights on the 1st floor in a room facing the side street. This is a noisy city and the windows are not sound proof. I would insist on a higher level room next time (if there is a next time).

| If you are a light sleeper I do not recommend this hotel. The noise from the street is almost unbearable. Even though I requested an ocean view room with my booking I was told their were none available. I was told that I had to request a room change between 11 and 12 to see if their would be another room available.(Which is usually when I was out on excursions.)The location was fantastice being right on the malecon and on the ocean. I did not find the front desk staff to be very helpful and usually relied on the bellman who was much friendlier.Don't expect much at this hotel. Bring your own shampoo and clock. There were so many great restuarants nearby we never ate at the hotel.

| THis hotel is for people that don't care about luxuries but for the price it is great. The only thing was the room I got did not have air conditioning which I was shocked because I'm from Houston & you will just die if you don't have one. But since I went in the beging of Jan, which is their winter, it was great. We just opened the top windows & they have a fan. But if you go in the summer forget about it. You will roast. Something else is that they do not have an iron. I made the mistake of assuming they would provide us with one. They have a security deposit but it is not in the room, it's in the receptionist area & they have time restrictions of when you can take stuff out. From like 7:30am-10:30pm. One time we forgot & we had all our monies there so we had to stay at the hotel for the night. The hotel is really close to all the clubs & restaurants in viejo puerto vallarta. All within 2-5 blocks. It was a great hotel.

| The Rosita is located right on the Malecon, a far better location than any of the other US-based resorts. The security was great, people were very friendly, and the restaurant on site was good. It is located on a very beautiful beach! I would recommend it for anyone who is looking to truly experience the Mexican culture and speaks at least very basic Spanish.

| The hotel was exactly what I thought it would be. Simply a clean place to rest your head after a long day of fun in a great spot. If you want inexpensive in the best location in all of Puerto Vallarta this is your place. For myself, I like to mix up vacations between 4 and 5 star resorts/boutique hotels and real world travel. The Rosita(more real world)forces you out and on to the streets to eat where locals eat and hang out. The taco and tamale carts were awesome. You have a ton to choose from also. Probably about 5 right out of the Rosita entrance. Also right out the door is the Malecon, beach, clubs, banks/atm's, shopping, taxis, etc. Note to self. I must agree with other reviews about the noise, if you stay on the street side of the hotel, it's bad. However tequila seems to make me sleep right through it. I would return to the Rosita in a heartbeat.

| This hotel is located at the end of the Malecon which means all the shopping is within easy walking distance, there is beaches close by, the front of the hotel itself overlooks the ocean. There is no parking available, but taxis are cheap. We had a street side room, as long as the bathroom door was shut, the noise was tolerable, (there is a shower only) The lobby was nice, I was able to rock my granddaughter to sleep there every night with no trouble. The resteraunt had excellent food, but a limited menu. This is a nice older hotel, with lots of ambience, if you are looking for a resort type of feel, however, you may be disappointed. The Ocean view rooms looked like they would be much nicer. All in all I was satisfied--it was a good deal for the price

| The location on the hotel is excellent, right in the beginning on the "malecon" (where all the clubs, restaurants, etc.) We stayed on a room facing the street, but with the new double pane windows we didn't hear the street noise at all. Service was great, but beds could have been more confortable. The hotel's beach is good for walking, but swimming beaches are only a 15-minute walk (or a 45-cent bus ride away). Nice, clean, and affordable hotel to stay in.

| Our stay at the Rosita was very pleasant. We found this economical hotel extremely clean and well kept - the staff very friendly and helpful - the food in the restaurant excellent and well priced. We would recommend a room away from the street side as the noise level is very loud at night. Our only disappointment was that we found the beds were slightly uncomfortable because we are not used to mattresses that firm.

| At first I thought that a hotel downtown on the malecon would be romatic and wonderful, little did I know that the noise from the roudy activity going on outside our window would be so horrible late into the night. We specifically asked for a room not on the street, as we would have difficulty sleeping. Well, that is exactly what we got, a room with a view of the ocean and the noisest possible location looking directly onto the malecon and the street life including a Harley Davidson gathering with people reving their engines to show off their stuff into the wee hours of the morning. As I layed there awakened once again by yet another hot shot's engine, I thought this was the worst possible location they could have selected for us based upon our clear request. Just because the price was inexpensive, travelers should not have to suffer this kind of environment without warning. The reviews of others experiences gave us no idea of the environmental reality. This is a perfect example of buyer beware. I won't take my chances at the Rosita Hotel again!

| This is an older hotel that has been well kept in a nice central location on the waterfront. Nice and clean, friendly staff and good reasonably priced food. If you like a "firm" bed, you'll like the place. We will stay there again next year. We noticed several people saying hello to others they met there the previous year. For a great day trip, take the panga boat to Yelapa.

| Excellent location, but you must upgrade to an ocean side room if you want to sleep.Restaurant was good, especially the continental breakfast, fresh fruit, variety of sweet rolls, and coffee. The breakfast buffet was terrible, tasted like day old food. Most everything about the hotel was good. When we checked out, we were told we owed 20 pesos for 4 local calls. We were told local calls were no charge. No big deal except when we left our room we left all our pesos in the room for the maid. All I had was a $50.00 USD, and certainly didn't want $49.80 change in pesos. Finally the front desk person agreed to put the 20 pesos on our Master Card. Thought this was a little cheap on the hotel's part.
