| We stayed here during Memorial Day weekend and were impressed with how stylish and comfortable it was. Pros: great location, high ceilings, helpful bi-lingual staff, internet access in lobby, nice touches like chocolates and printed weather forecast awaiting our arrival each night. Small problems (burnt out light bulb, no newspaper as promised) were corrected immediately. Cons: elevator to room opposite noisy bar, Canadian tax refund not applicable since booked through Expedia, hotel restaurant service somewhat spotty (but otherwise excellent - we even tried the caribou!) We would definitely recommend this hotel.

| When we arrived the staff was pleasant and helpful. We did want a bath in the room at first but the front desk insisted that we were better off with a room with a shower because the room offered more amenities. The staff was right the room was spectacular. As we walked into the room the classical music was playing in the background and the lights were dimmed slightly as if they were waiting for us to arrive. The high ceilings made the room much more spacious than it really was and the brick wall added character. The bathroom shower was amazing as it had the rain shower head and a regular detachable shower head and was large enough for two people. The marble floors and counter top in the bathroom were clean and looked brand new. The bed was the size of a california king with a nice imitation fireplace in front of the bed. The room had surround sound with a dvd player which made watching the movies we brought that much more exciting. We also enjoyed a massage at the spa, free wine and cheese every night, and free continental breakfast every morning. The overall experience was terrific and I would recommend most couples stay at this hotel if you can land a good deal. I would rate this as the second best hotel I've ever stayed at.

| We loved our accomodations in a quaint part of old Montreal, right across from the Basilica of Notre Dame. I highly recommend a stay here along with meal or two at the restaurant and/or bar. It is also a hot, hip bar scene on Thursday nights. We will definitely return, maybe during the jazz fest.

| What a place to be. Everything you see and read about it on Expedia is true. All the Information you need, the knowledgeable staff will provide it for you.The contemporary style of the Place D'Armes is just what we've been looking for. The Rooms are most comfortable, including the bed. The bathroom is amazing with the huge shower. We stayd there for one week and from the first to the last day, we felt most welcomed and appreciated at all times. So much friendlyness and superior service in one place - what else can you ask for. By the way, the included breakfast was soooo good with those little french pastries, and the breakfast room itself is just a piece of Art too. In the evening, from 5 o'clock till 7'o clock you have complimentary cheese and wine, which we really enjoyed. At night they close your curtains, dim your lights, turn the music on and but some chocolate on your bedside (Lindt), what a "sweet treat", and provide you with the weatherforcast for the next day.(great for planing your next day!). So after a long day out you feel relaxed right away. We liked all these little "extras", everything was so thoughtful. The only "problem" we had was with the roomkey, every second day it just did not work and we had to get a new one. Other than that, everything was just perfect and professional as it could be.Thanks to the Managment and the great Staff of the Place D'Armes Hotel. Good Job, well done!!!

| The hotel provided superb service accompanied by an extremely helpful staff and a great little lounge where everyday you were welcomed to a glass of wine and a selection of cheese from 5-7. The rooms were spacious and inviting with classical music playing softly as you enter your room. Would I recommend it? Definitely. Will I go back? Most certainly.

| We had an absolutely fabulous stay! From the valet upon arrival, to the welcoming desk clerk, to the servers in the bar, to the chamber maids, to the especially helpful concierge, we felt like everyone worked to make our stay just perfect. The room was gorgeous and immaculate, set for us with low lighting and music playing when we walked in each evening. Wonderful full breakfast, free wine and cheese each evening. Ideal downtown location. And again, the room was just splendid.

| Every member of the staff was courteous and helpful beyond expectation. Restaurant was excellent as well as morning breakfast buffet. Room was clean and comfortable with beautiful furnishings. Though on second floor overlooking square the room was very well soundproofed. Want to come back with my wife to enjoy more time in Montreal.

| Charming older building, tastefully redone inside. Spacious room with high ceiling, all conveniences, remarkably quiet. Breakfast and afternoon wine/cheese in the stylish restaurant downstairs (but we didn't sample the restaurant food). Great location -- walk to the Old Port, shops, restaurants, galleries, convention center. Shuttle to the financial district regrettably was not in service during our stay, but taxis were plentiful. The staff could not have been more friendly, courteous and helpful. We've done a lot of travelling, and this is one of our all-time favorite hotels. It's a bit pricey, and parking is extra.
