The first time I went to Hawaii, I stayed at this Aston. I was excited to see this new fixed-up hotel. When I got there, the elevator seemed like it was going to fall apart. When we got into our room, it was extremely smaller than I expected. However, our bathroom was really nice. Our balcony view was basically the adjacent hotel's wall. It was partially my fault because I just booked a standard room not specifying the view. The air conditioning in the room had this moist feeling. It smelled stale. But after a while you get use to it. I do think this an average hotel as in room-wise. The staff is awesome. They are so nice and kind. Another nice thing about this hotel is that it was directly across from the beach and right in the middle of the Wikiki strip. Its location is wonderful. The hotel also provides beach mats and towels for the beach. I would stay here again because, truly, we only used our room to sleep. Most of the time we spent on tours, shopping, or on the beach. It's a decent hotel with a great staff and awesome location.

This was a small hotel, but its location was perfect. It's very nice and small and the people are very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to any one that is trying to have a good time.

Hotel staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. However, the rooms were relatively small, no bathroom counter space but clean. No hotel amenities. Great location. Would choose a hotel further from the beach with more amenities.

This is a nice small hotel with friendly personell, the rooms have a turn of the century styling which breaks from the normal Hotel felling. With only a corssing of the street you get to the beach. The only caution is that there are a number of rooms without windows so make sure that you get a window room when you book.

I have traveled all over the United States and to eight foreign countries, and I have no problem saying that this is BY FAR the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. What a way to end my honeymoon!!On the Expedia site, the hotel bills itself as "An intimate, luxury boutique hotel where service is gracious and personal." Let me tell you there is NOTHING luxurious about this hotel, and the service is FAR from gracious or personal. The location is the only thing this hotel has going for it - right across the street from Waikiki Beach. Keep your eyes open - it's just a small doorway on the busiest street in Honolulu. You can drive right by it like we did! Once I found it, I was VERY unimpressed. It's a dark, dingy lobby that is very unwelcoming. The staff acted like I was putting them out to even check in. We had to park our car in the garage at the hotel behind us: I had to walk out the front, around the building, and up four flights of stairs. And the topper of it all: The room. This is the worst room I have ever seen! No kidding, it was one single room about 15x12, decorated in a really cheap "Asian" theme. Highlights: cigarette burns on the carpet, it smelled awful, and the view was of a brick wall! This room at the Aston was so bad I seriously considered leaving and going back down the street. I would have if it hadn't been such a trek to get the car! Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! There are better bargains right down the street.
