Room was clean, quiet, nice bed, one elevator for hotel, ice machine only on 2nd floor, pool seems to be in basement area did not use. A little distance from city center with traffic but ok. Close to a enclosed mall. Small parking lot fills early, second parking lot down behind hotel across a bike trail. Felt uneasy using rear lot after dark due to teens driving through lot & hanging out every night, watching you and sometimes yelling things. Informed desk but it continued to occur nightly. good stay might return.

Upon checking in I was delighted I was given an upgrade as the lady at the desk was very nice and helpful. However, I was not impressed by the black furniture. It was not very inviting.

I'm a frequent traveler and have stayed at many hotels in Victoria. The Red Lion is the best deal I have found so far. Although the rooms are somewhat small and a few are still under renovation, they all contain fridges and microwaves and are very comfortable. The beds are apparently brand new. Better still, the hotel offers free Internet access and free gym passes, which are essential amenities for me. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to other visitors looking for good place to stay for a reasonable price.

I have been Victoria a few times. Relatives recommended me this hotel because of it price. To my surprises, the hotel condition is very good, especially the granite bathrooms. My room had a balcony, which overlooked the outdoor pool. The Staff were friendly, courteous and nice.

We regularly stay at Red Lions in the US, and we had another good experience at the one in Victoria. The desk staffs were very friendly and informative. The room was clean and cosy. We had no problems with noise, even though the Hotel is on the main street of Victoria. Having a fridge and microwave helped keep food costs down. We were quite pleased. Victoria is all we expected and more.

This hotel was in a fine location. It was little far from downtown Victoria but not that bad. The pool is very small and not kept that clean. Also the bar and resturant are hard to access from the hotel which was inconvient. Overall this is not a bad hotel but not as nice as it looked from the pictures. If you are going to be in town for a couple of nights and are looking for somewhere less expensive to stay it would be fine.

Carpet in our romm was stained, chips in walls and chips of formica missing. A lot of noise out side every night, one night requiring police to break up noise makers.Chinese restraunt in the hotel was a joke, not the funy kind. There was a lot of road noise also.

We chose this location because we were going to be travelling to several parts of the island, and thought it might work best for us to be just a little outside of downtown. This worked well for us. We were only ten minutes from downtown, and very near the freeways to travel both West and North of Victoria. The rooms were very small, but clean and comfortable.

You get what you pay for. For the economy class, it's worth every penny. The room is clean and they even included a microwave and free parking. We stayed at the more luxury hotel in vancouver and paid more that double which didn't even provide free parking and a microwave. Compare with other hotels which cost twice or more, you'll get more for your money staying at this hotel.

This is our second time to stay at this hotel. We were very pleased with our stay. The first time was 2003 after the hotel was re-built. We were so glad to see so many changes and a lot of improvements made since then. There is a brand new parking lot instead of the gravel lot as before. Both my wife and I are diabetics. We have to prepare our meals while we are traveling. The hotel room provides a kitchenette. microwave. refrigerator and some utensils. We found it so convenient. What the hotel has not changed is the friendliness and a good value for money.

We checked into a downtown Victoria hotel and immediately found that the hotel was a noisy party place, with people constantly coming and leaving the hotel. For our second night, we booked the Red Lion Inn & Suites using Expedia. We liked the amenities offered at Red Lion -- high-speed internet, refrigerator, microwave, and free parking. The free access to Fitness World was a bonus. The hotel is located just off a busy road, and despite there being a nightclub in the next building, we did not hear it, and had a quiet, good nights sleep. The rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. If anything, I felt the hotel should consider changing is the bulky furniture, as some of it felt a little too big for the size of the room. Next time we visit Victoria though, we will be staying at Red Lion from the first night.

This is a good value for your money. It is a bit farther out of town, but if you have a car, it's no problem. A little hard to initially find, it's technically behind Fox's Liquor store. However, there wasn't any issues with safety, etc. The room had a kitchenette - although we just used the fridge. The bathroom appeared to have been updated with granite tiles. Very clean. We went on a hot Memorial Day weekend, but the outdoor pool was just a little too cold to put a few toes in the water. I was disappointed that there wasn't a jacuzzi. After a long day of walking, that would have been nice. Overall, if was a clean, no frills motel but if you have a budget in mind, it's a great find.

Hotel attempted to put us in a room with adjoining room door with unlockable adjoining door. They finally relocated us to a different room not until I vehemently complained. The room we were in seemed to have very thin walls. You could hear conversations and other noises from the adjacent room. I seriously won't stay at this hotel chain again or even recommend it for others.

Room had a kitchenette with stove, fridge, sink, microwave and cupboards but no pots, pans, plates, silverware, etc. Makes no sense. Room was OK but very crowded with a king bed and the ketchenette stuff. They emphasize the chinese restaurant but we found the food severely lacking.

The hotel rooms were fine with hot water and comfortable beds. However, the nightclub on the property made sleeping difficult as the bass beat went on most of the night. Also, every piece of information the hotel staff gave us was incorrect - as to where to find things, how long they'd be open, general directions, etc. We arrived at 4:30 pm and one of our rooms was still not clean and ready for us to occupy it and they didn't do a full clean of the room for the second day - glasses were left dirty, coffee wasn't replaced, etc.
