The Queen Elizabeth is a name that has always been associated with quality in Montreal. The Fairmont room that I was in was clean and comfortable, but small. Not much extra room here. one has to think where to place their personal items. Same goes for the bathroom. Don't look for any extra amenities such as bottled water ($8.50 for a bottle of Evian). The walls did not seem to be sufficiently sound proof. On the positive side, the healthclub was spacious and well equiped, which was a pleasant surprize. Overall a pleasant experience, but I am not altogether certain if the hotel nowadays lives up to its past reputation.

I loved the location of this hotel. Its connection to the underground network was ideal. The coffee store, Second Cup, (underground) is so close I could get delicious coffee each morning. I could walk to Old Montreal in 15 minutes and to Sherbrook St and the museums in the same time or less. The room was fine and the lobby was also fine - nothing too elaborate.

I should have believed earlier reviews about the noisy nature of this hotel. I was wakened at 4:00 a.m. on a Thurdsay night by revelers next door and the walls were very thin.

the room was tiny although we paid for the "spacious" one. There were holes in the walls: some patched up with some gross yellow substance, some left "untreated". The bathroom was dirty and there were staines on the shower ceiling that resembled blood. I could swear that there were bed bugs in my bad. I was moved for the second night to te room that I have actuaaly paid for - after several complaints. This hotel was a nightmare!

The hotel was very nice. It had a underground tunnel that connected to a mall, train station and metro (subway). You can go down there in cold weather with no coat on and walk, shop and eat etc... for hours. The pool was nice a little cold for my taste, but the whirlpool was great. The rooms where nice, clean with a great view. They where a little small but we managed. The Biodome was nice to visit and you can take the metro right to it. That was great because driving is crazy there. All in all it was a nice trip.

Our stay at the Queen Elizabeth was definitely disppointing. I expect much better customer service from a hotle of this caliber. Our room was on a non-smoking floor, yet the guests in the room next door smoked heavliy throughout our stay. After several complaints, the hotel still refused to enforce their no-smoking policy in non-smoking rooms.

Everyone was great with our son. We had a pack and play provided to us for a crib with a sheet, they had real high chairs in the restaurant and the waitress even offered to keep an eye on the baby so my husband could use the buffett when I was at my meeting...

The hotel was clean. The decor was outdated, especially in the lobby. We had a nice view from the room (cathedral). We checked in at 11:00am. They were unable to give me reservations at their nicest restaurant. Apparently it was going to be closed that day even though they were suppose to be open. No real explanation. I tried to exchange american money for canadian money and they said I'd find a better exchange rate somewhere else. Turns out they were wrong. During the stay, a hotel employee came into our room with us there and inspected the minibar for missing items. Shouldn't they do that after our stay?? Overall the staff was terrible, but the hotel was relatively nice and clean with a good location.

We arrived in Montreal by VIA Rail. We stayed in the Queen Eliazabeth because we never had to go outside. We could shop the underground that connects to the train station. We could walk to our hotel inside the building. It was extremely convenient.
