| Stayed at this hotel for an extended holiday weekend. This is pretty much a laid-back, family hotel - not too swanky but it is nice. Great value for the money - great location. Free breakfast is good, free happy hour - draft beer and well drinks - even better, and the two pool areas are clean and have plenty of room. Fourth floor sports bar/restaurant is really good, but there are plenty other great dining options in Scottsdale. You can walk to Fashion Square mall from this hotel - so if you wife likes to shop - lookout. Its about a 15 minute drive to the Indian casino and also to Tempe. Rooms were nice and clean but ours had some occasional mosquitos at night which seemed weird since all the windows were closed - but other than that everything was fine.

| The hotel is attractive, conveniently located and had all the perks we were looking for! The large suite with a separate living/dining area, daily maid service, complimentary hot-cooked breakfast with many options, complimentary happy hour(2 hrs!) and swimming pools made it a wonderful place from which to stage our day trips during our week-long stay. The onsite restaurant was nice and the room service was also good. The staff was friendly, attentive and efficient.

| We booked a room at the hotel thinking it was a different place. Well we were pleasently surprised when we got there. The suite rooms are great with a small bar area in the living room. We were pleasently surprised with the free cocktails in the evening and cooked to order breakfast in the morning. The only trouble we had was getting an ashtray in our smoking room. It took the staff 4 calls through out 6 hours before one was delivered. There were more kids than I expected, but it was a holiday weekend, so I guess that should have been assumed on my part.

| My sister and I stayed here for 5 days and truly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Previous to booking this hotel, I had read all of the favorable reviews on Expedia and was very impressed. Even coming in with high expectations, I have to say that our expectations were exceeded in almost every way. The pictures you can view online don't do justice to the fabulous pool area. The pools are much larger than appear in the pictures and the water temperature was just right. The free breakfast every morning was great . . . . so many choices and freshly prepared so everything was nice and hot. The food in the on-site restaurants was also very good and priced reasonably. We didn't rent a car but had no problem staying within the hotel property for 4 of the 5 days we were there. Our room was very comfortable, and any requests we made were quickly handled by the resort staff. I highly recommend this hotel for your travel to Scottsdale.

| Stayed at this hotel for a week vacation in May 06. Liked many things about it - very clean, well maintained. Nice landscaping, pleasant fountains. Got a 2 rm suite for price of a hotel room. Good value. Quiet and comfortable. the 2 pools were sparkling clean. Convenient location near Old Town Scottsdale. Great food at the hotel restaurant. Try the shrmp and avocado salad. Loved the full hot breakfast with eggs, pancakes, fruit, etc. which was included in room price. Also enjoyed the managers happy hour with free mixed drinks, beer, wine and popcorn for two hrs. every evening, included in price. There was a tennis court and small gym availible on premise although we did not use them. You can get room service (food or just drinks) delivered to the pool. There is a relaxed sports bar with many TV screens on-premise for fans who cant miss their games. Would definitely recommend this place to stay again. Only minor drawback was somewhat old-fashioned room furniture/decor. We'll be back!

| This hotel was clean, beautifully landscaped, comfortable and very accomodating. Our family would go back in a heartbeat. We really enjoyed the cooked breakfasts each morning, which were a HUGE savings for my husband and myself because we have two boys, 8 and 14, that eat a LOT and this saved us one less meal to have to pay for each day. I really enjoyed the jacuzzi and the clean, well-equipped pool and the fact that there was a laundry facility right around the corner from our room. The irons and the hair dryer were one less thing to have to pack and were very helpful for our entire family, as well. For the price and the overall comfort, this was an outstanding facility. I highly recommend it.

| Went with 2 kids and husband and had an excellent time. The hotel staff was courteous, the rooms were clean, fresh, nice, and the breakfast bar was a great way to start the day. Loved the fact that it was included and quick. The happy-hour was a nice treat in the late afternoon. The pool was really sweet. Liked the mosaic dolphins at the bottom of the pool. Water was heated so no problem after a cool night. The jacuzzi was nice as well. Pool landscaping is lovely. The hotel is very well situated and we watched the sunset every night behind Camelback Mountain (a great early morning hike even with kids) and the shops, without the full heat of the day, are within a short walking distance or hop on the trolley. The exotic birds in the lobby were a nice touch for the kids. Although it has been written that the rooms were a little dated, I liked the fact that they were "oldy worldy" feeling. The varnish on the doors to the room were crackled and had some character. It felt very much like a hotel from the 1920's without the "run-down" look. I couldn't even imagine when it was built. The gardens were really pristine and very pretty. Took a lot of pictures of the kids hanging out by all the gorgeous foliage. I think that this hotel makes a great effort and it shows. Great value for all the convenience and comfort.

| THe Hotel was very nice and comfortable. We liked the idea of the free cooked to order breakfast every morning and it was a good meal, not the typical "free Breakfast". The Free Happy hour was great also, every night for two hours we could have free cocktails and sit by the pool. They even had drinks (Soda & Lemonaid) for kids during this time. The rooms were very nice with a kitchen (Microwave & fridge). Downtown Scottsdale was also very nice to visit. Only issue we had was with a new employee that did not check us in correctly, our keys did not work one day and she overcharged us at the checkout. The manager was right on it and corrected everything for us, which was nice.

| I picked the hotel as it was priced lower than a couple national chains that were located nearby. I was glad I did. Their complementary breakfast is very good. The hotel is older but has been well maintained. I enjoyed it's style and it is convenient to the rest of Scottsdale. The hotel has complementary in room high speed internet but it not located weill in the room. Ended up with the high speed cord streched from one side of the room to the other and the power cord from the other side of the room with a round table in the middle. This was OK for getting emails but not very good for working.

| Pros - One of the best features of this hotel was the fact that each morning, the cafeteria served a full breakfast and each night a small selection of cocktails were served in a cafeteria area. The breakfast was great - eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereal and beverages. The best part? It's all included in the price of your stay. The staff was extremely helpful in showing us how to get to our sight-seeing excursions. The pool was well kept and pleasant to sit around. It's very family oriented with a small video game arcade and pool table. Cons - The decor in our room was a bit dated (the art, carpet and tiles appeared to be circa 1986 in style) though this did not take away from the fact that the room was quite comfortable. There seemed to be a lot of convention/meeting rooms intermixed with the regular hotel rooms. Again, this did not bother us however there were a lot of people shuffling around during the day. At night, it settled down. Parking was difficult. There didn't seem to be enough parking to accommodate all the hotel guests and meeting room guests at the same time. There was overflow parking available though it was quite far from our room - difficult when you're trying to hall luggage to and from your room. Overall, I rate this hotel very highly. The friendly staff, free food and drinks and comfortable rooms more than made up for the negatives.

| Most of the staff is wonderful and eager to please. The rollaways and sleeper sofas are horribly uncomfortable. The rooms/suites could really use a face lift and some refreshing. The rooms have a musty hotel room smell. However, the breakfast is a bonus and very well done. For what we paid we felt it was still a good value. Great location!

| Wonderful, convenient location. Well kept grounds. Very large suites, nicely furnished with a pleasant sprinkling of extras. Concierge was very helpful. A free, full cooked breakfast every day and free happy hour in the evening. Scottsdale is full of extra-luxurious spas, golf resorts and hotels... With outragios prices. Chaparral, has been here a long time,is regularly renovated and very reasonable for the area. Oh,and the Grill, though a bit plain, had good food priced well below the local eateries. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return there.

| Very clean. Rooms are "roomy" and separated by a small hallway. Location is both quiet and an easy walk to shopping and galleries. One of the best hotels I've stayed in for cleanliness and quiet, with comfortable, understated elegance. I stayed with my adult son who took the other room. In the past we've paid for two separate rooms in less quality hotel - this was much better, both price-wise and for comfort. The breakfast was included and was a full course.
