| We were travelling with my toddler son, and this hotel was clean enough and quiet enough to make the trip a pleasant experience for all of us. The staff recommended family friendly restaurants on Cannery Row, and the hotel is also close to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

| The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and the fantastic Dennis the Menance playground. The front desk personnel are friendly and helpful, and free fresh from the oven cookies are provided. The building we stayed in lacked an elevator, though, making it difficult to get the stroller up to our second floor suite.

| Our flight was delayed so we did not get in until the following day; they credited us back for the night we weren't there, and allowed us to check in at 9:30am because of our flight difficulties. Extremely wonderful!

| Nice Motel. Convenient to everything. Reasonably priced. Hotels in the area can be quite pricey. Fairly short walk/drive to the shoreline. Continental breakfast was adequate. Staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. No A/C in the room which I thought was rather strange. Close to several restaurants.

| We stayed six nights in March and April '05 while we toured Monterey and Big Sur. We paid in advance through Expedia; very good deal. The room was clean, housekeeping service prompt (even though the motel was full the whole time), good breakfast bar. Very convenient location to Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, and Hwy 1. Only bad parts: The room was small (no big deal). The room was way noisy at times, noise coming from other rooms and the parking lot. Get a room on the back side that does not face the parking lot.

| Lacked electricity outlets. Electricity went out one morning which was very inconvenient to getting ready for the day. Shower didn't work one morning. Walls are paper-thin can hear your neighbors.

| The Sand Dollar Inn was nice but rather small. The inn is very close to all the tourist spots which makes it very convenient. The rooms are not very big the photos are deceiving.

| The Sand Dollar Inn was a nice place to stay because it was located near two of the major attractions in Monterey. The Sand Dollar Inn was within walking distance of downtown and Fisherman's Wharf. The receptionist at the desk was extremely helpful and the room was clean and big. I would definately stay there again when I go back to Monterey.

| We booked this room online, so we didn't know what to expect. It looks a little shabby from the outside, but the rooms were quite charming. The balcony and fireplace added a lot of character to this hotel. We visited in the winter and were pleased to find that the outdoor pool (and spa, of course) were heated.
