On arrival an added expense of parking was not as advertised. Instead of two restaurants advertised, there was one Fish and Chips (closed for health reasons one day).Air conditioners in rooms inadequate for rooms. Pools clean, gardens picturesque. Great place for sleeping only. Front desk not knowledgable about sights or street addresses and not very caring about being helpful. Other than that, it's right downtown.

Poor quality of the hotel service. For instance, it takes about 15 minutes waiting just to get a key back, not to mention the checking in delay... The reception personel were not friendly at all, quite incompetent actually.

Kona Seaside is right downtown, walk to shops and restaurants. No beach, but 2 pools. Very clean and friendly. Extra charge for parking ($5 / day). Would have liked shampoo and coffeemaker!

Not a 5 star hotel, but a good value in a great location. We stayed in the tower which is the newest part of the hotel. The room was large with a small refrigerator and a parcial ocean view.

We received a good rate and the room was acceptable for the price. The location is excellent and the landscaping is nice. The only negative experience was that parking was very limited. However, we were referred to a close by, free public parking lot which also frequently got crowded. We were looking for an affordable, clean, safe place to spend the night and the Kona Seaside met these requirements.

Great location: VERY close to water and Alii Drive (the road along the waterside). Easy walk to shops and restaurants. Just a block or two to basic shops like drug store and grocery. And located right on main roads. The room was quiet, and I was in the closest room to the lobby (and a big street intersection) on the ground floor. Slept fine! AC was a bit noisy and loud but acted like white noise. Ceiling fan is a nice touch.Coupon for breakfast each day at a semi-attached restaurant overlooking the water. I think this could be applied to dinner too. But breakfast for a dollar and some change was a bargain!Only CONS: (and these aren't very major)No shampoo. Hey, I like to travel light. So, BYOShampoo! (Soaps provided.)Parking spots are the SMALLEST I have EVER tried to park in!OVERALL:I would definitely stay here again, esp. since it was the best price I could find for the downtown location!
