| The Nassau Beach Hotel was once a very clean, quaint and friendly place to say. I have chosen to make it my home away from home many times over the past 10 years. The facility has deteriorated over the years and while it remains the most reasonably priced place to stay on Cable Beach, be prepared for sub-standard accomodations. If you live for luxury, book another hotel. If you spend most of your vacation time too inebriated to notice or on the beach, like me and just need a decent place to rest your head at night, consider the Nassau Beach Hotel. The best thing the hotel has going for it is the attached restaurant- Cafe Johnny Canoe's where you will experience some of the best authentic Bahamian food on the island. Try the grilled grouper or cracked conch. They're worth the trip ....and the dingy carpet.

| The staff were polite enough. unfortunatly, the hotel over booked and our section of the hotel was taken up by Spring Breakers, who had no regards for families. Rather unfortunate, and not enough security to monitor the roudy noises during the early hours of the morning...

| We brought our son & his friends down for Spring Break and when we arrived there was a slight mix up regarding our reservation. They did not show us arriving until the following night. Expedia.com and the hotel quickly resolved this and for the inconvenience, the hotel upgraded us from an ocean view to an ocean front room. They could not accomodate our son and his friends in a room next to ours, so they put them in a room in another part of the hotel which was fine with them. Imagine that. The view from our room was spectacular and the King size bed we had was extremely comfortable. Lots of blankets and soft pillows. The hotel is old but maintenance was always right on top of keeping everything clean and picked up. Quite an amazing feat with Spring Breakers. The beach was beautiful with plenty to do and lots of beach chairs, the staff was very friendly and the food was good at Johnny Canoes, a fun and lively restaurant on hotel property. My husband and I had a very relaxing time and the kids had a great Spring Break.

| My daughter cried when she saw the bathroom, of course we were missing our luggage. The hotel is old, especially the bathroom, but it is clean. We got used to the room and it was not as bad as it first appeared. The staff was helpful and friendly. If you want cheap but good, this is the place to stay in Nassau.

| bottom line is if you want a low price hotel on the beach this hotel is fine. The staff will attempt to accomodate your requests. The hotel is at least 60 years old and the plan is to demolish it. It is in need of maintenance. Do yourself a favor and request to see the room first and avoid any stress after check in. It is a good hotel for the money.

| The hotel was not in as bad of shape as we were expecting. Our room was clean, the faucet in the tub leaked, but it was not a big deal. Our power went out one night and a water pipe burst in our hall another night, there was only one elevator that worked the entire time we were there - we used the stairs alot. The beach was nice and the hotel is in a very nice location. Now for the problems that would make me not stay at this hotel again: The only restaurant that was still in operation was the one on the beach, the three in the hotel are all closed. The hotel was full of college kids (the drinking age is 18)that were up yelling and screaming most of the night and they would just leave there garbage on the beach or wherever they were. Most of the staff did not go out of there way to help, we had to make many requests before anything would get done but it paid off, we did get our refrigerator, extra pillows and towels and they did fix our check out date. They had our check out date 2 days early, I had my itinerary I printed out but they would not accept that so I had to us my credit card to call Expedia ($20.00), they put me on hold, called the hotel to fix the date, we checked at the front desk and it still had not been corrected, eventually it did get taken care of. The people trying to sell time shares in the hotel and outside the hotel would not leave us alone and were sometimes rude.

| My mom, a friend of the family, and I stayed at the Nassau Beach Hotel March 28-31 (just a few weeks ago) and it was definitely the steal of the century. We chose this hotel due to recommendations from fellow employees who have stayed at the same hotel in the past. We purchased our trip through Expedia and the whole trip was a blast (despite obnoxious spring breakers)and we are definitely going back! The hotel itself wasn't the fanciest on the islands, I'm sure, but was clean, nice, no mold spots in the shower, great service (our luggage came in on another plane a few hours after our arrival and the hotel was great by offering assistance to us)and whenever we came back to our room (usually by mid afternoon or so to go lay on the beach) we came back to a tidied up and fresh room. The hotel staff was very helpful in recommending good places to eat - and they were all excellent choices. Even though it's not located downtown, you could still walk to restaurants or you could hop the dollar bus to downtown. Recommend it to anyone traveling to Nassau!

| I booked this hotel for my family and they had horrible experience. The price is not worth it. When they enter the room, the remote to the tv was not the same brand as the tv and it was not an universal remote. I called the front desk and they promised me they will bring another one, they never came. To make matter worse, my brother in law went to get ice down below level and there was no ice. On his way back , he accidentally went to the fourth floor and open a room he thought was his, and the door open, thanks god the person put the chain in it and he heard a scream. he went to the wrong room and how come the door open with his key card? That is scary. There was no water also. the beach was dirty and horrible They only stayed there for one night and all this. i would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

| We were there for Spring Break so there were a lot of college/high school kids there. They put most of them in one wing (the older section of the hotel) where we were. You do not want to stay in that wing. The room smelled so badly we had to move. They moved us after the first night wihtout any problem. We moved to the center wing and it was great, no problems at all. Definitely request the newer wing. The pool area did not have chairs around it so we could not use it. However, we used the pool at the resort next door which was great!! Nassau Beach Hotel is owned by same company as the neighboring resort and we were allowed to use their pool. Great value and I would stay there again, as long as I got in the newer section.

| This hotel has a great location right on the beach, but the hotel itself is in terrible shape. The rooms have mold on the ceilings, plumbing problems, and they don't wipe anything down when they clean your room. The stairwell had nasty smelling puke in it for 2 days before the hotel finally mopped it up. The hotel restaurants food is bad, we ate at Sbarro's next door for lunch and Johnny Canoes for dinner a couple times their food was ok, but pricey.

| If you dont want to spend more money than you have to for a great vacation, this is the place to go! Very friendly staff, room and hotel cleaned very well each day. There were small mold stains in bathroom on ceiling, no vent fan though, so its to be expected. Took full advantage of neighboring hotel for entertainment, ect. This added to the value. The people here are very friendly and you dont feel like a "tourist". Go to the night clubs. Eat at Johnny Canoes or Pineapple Place. Please, dont go next door to eat at the casino tower restaurants, they are a waste of money and the food is horrible. Just use the amenities and the casino itself. Jitney (Taxi) to and from airport is $17-20 depending on luggage. Travel by bus-only $1. Dont sweat the driving-they are very skilled on such small roads! Do the beach by day, party at night routine-much better if you are staying a short time. Plenty of hotel security and local police (undercover) felt very safe. Be kind to the locals, and bargain with them, (they expect this) they look forward to it! Do a few day trips, visit inner-city Nassau and dont forget the Junkanoo parade at Johnny Canoes Fri. night @ 8 and happy hour 4-6 all week(the drinks are awesome-try the Bahama Mama!) Again- do the nightclubs! Da Island Club Thurs. is great with Munnings. All in all we (Jenn and I) had a great time for a reasonable price! We will be back someday!

Beware the Royal timeshare they kept us there for 3 1/2 hours and when we told them we were not interested we never got our dinner vouchers--just say no when you check in and keep moving. Swimming with the Dolphins is AWESOME. Wyndham has excellent casino and restaurants as well. If you go at Christmas time you must do the Junkanoo parade downtown.

| I have stayed ast thids hotel 4 times now and it is a reasonable room for the money. If you are looking for pampering and luxury, stay somewhere else. But, if you want a clean, safe room, on a clean safe beach, this is a predictable, good bet. Service is never extrordinary in the Bahamas, but if you need a lightbulb replaced, or the toilet jams up it will get fixed. Staff is friendly, the room gets cleaned once a day and you get extra clean towels if you need. There is a casino right next door and you can get downtown for a $1 on the bus. I'll go back again hopewfully.

The room was nice and clean, except for the bathroom which had some rust stains and some mold/mildew near the air vents. Really though, it didn't bother me that much - we were staying right on Cable Beach. The beach was beautiful and clean. I would definitely come back to stay here again.

| We stayed at the Nassau Beach for three nights in early August. There was an extremely long wait at check in, staff was friendly and helpful. However, after check-in the desk staff were rude and not at all helpful. Room was located in the remodeled area close to the beach. The bathroom sinks and tub had no stopper to hold water. The bathroom cabinets were broken and smashed in at the bottom like they had been kicked in. Rooms was not cleaned or bed made until we requested fresh towels at night. I have stayed at this hotel in the past but the service and condition of the rooms this year was by far the worst experience ever. The cheap room rates are not worth it!!!!

| I guess the title explains it all. The rooms in the hotel offer a great view of the ocean, although many of them seemed to be small, aside from rooms near the ocean end of the hallways. Besides the stellar lobby, much of the hotel appeared to be showing it's age and it some places seemed downright dirty. The pools showed signs of algae or dirt, although they were skimmed daily. The beach was great and just steps from the room and chairs were plentiful.

The beach is a five minute walk away and is nothing out of the ordinary. The air conditioning disappears mysteriously in the afternoons, but we weren't in our room most of the time. Cabarete if a US$5 five minute cab ride away and the bars there are good. Puerto Plata is a half an hour away and we were charge $25 to go out there. This hotel is okay if you are not too picky. You'll have great time if you want just to relax. It's a good value.
