We were very happy with our stay at the Doubletree and would visit it again. The hotel was clean and very new looking. The pool, tiki bar, and cafe were very good. Our room was a bit small, but comfortable and clean. AC worked great, which I've heard is a problem at some Key West hotels. The shuttle to Old Town is great, but since it stops at 11:00 p.m. we did have to take a cab a few times ($15.00 one way from Old Town).

Clean, pretty hotel. Quiet, which was nice for us. Pool area and bar are really nice. Shuttle is very helpful. Great place to say in the Keys if you don't care about being close to Duval Street.

The pictures of the room look much better then they are. The staff is not the best and very slow to service. We actually went to dinner one night at the hotel and got to the restaraunt about 20 minutes before it closed. The waitress was not nice and upset she had to serve us.

Overall everything was great, except that the bar and restaurant service was dreadful and slow. But even with this poor service, all of the other services (concierge, front desk, and shuttle) made up for the lack of service at the bar and restaurant. If the Double tree can get their problems straightened out in the bar and restaurant area, this would be a five-star hotel. Would definately stay here again.

The only "negative" I could state is that the hotel is on the other end of the Key from where downtown is located. ie.( Duval Street} That, however, isn't much of an obstacle as the hotel offers free shuttle rides into town every hour.

If your looking for a great value for services in Key West and are willing to stay a few miles from downtown, the Grand Key Resort is the place to go. The shuttle service to and from downtown was great. Easier than trying to find a place to park. Concierge service was great in booking excursions and providing transportation to the sites. On site restraunt was ok if you want to stay in but there is too much to chose from downtown to stay in!

We stayed at the Doubletree for our first trip to Key West and loved it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when deciding what to see and do there. The rooms were bright and clean and the pool was beautiful. The hotel is a little out of the way from most activities on Duval Street yet the hotel shuttle service to anywhere on the island makes up for it! Would love to return there!

Hotel and personnel were wonderful - they had a busy weekend with 2 weddings - cleanliness and promptness of cleaning room were slightly declined on weekend. Service was great and very friendly and informative people. You can be in town all day and into the evening and relax to quiet in the evening! Shuttle was very prompt!

This was a second stay at the Doubletree. I think the hotel is a great value--the shuttle service into town is excellent. (We like staying away from the frenzy of Duval with the easy option of being there quickly (and free of charge).) The only complaint I have about the hotel itself is the pool area--I think it would go a very long way to hose the pool deck off and have someone constantly cleaning trash, etc. The women's bathroom floor could use more attention during the day as well. Replacing the cushions on the chairs would be an added bonus. Other than that, the staff are terrific and the concierges have excellent and worthy suggestions for restaurants, etc. I'd go back anytime.

Plusses: Service was great by staff and front desk. Even though it is far from the action, they provide free transportation to almost anywhere you wanted to go. Would be better if the bus ran every 1/2 hr instead of every hour. Bus driver gave out drink coupons for local bar. Room service was quick. Cookies are the best. Clean. Nice lounge chairs by the pool, but some of them were kind of dirty. Thank goodness for the free towels. Minuses: room seemed a bit cramped, balconies are teenie tiny. Restaurant food is not the greatest, better to eat at the many great restaurants around Duval St. Our room was at the back part of the hotel, and if you kept the door open, you could hear construction sounds from the new condo complex next door. Rooms are pretty sound proof though. Pool: got the impression from conversations that people who are not guests of the hotel come to the pool with kids and spend the day, so some days there were a lot of kids around. Overall enjoyed our stay.

The service by a select few made our Honeymoon more enjoyable. The convience of the concierge was the best part especially if it is your first time in Key West. There were only a few bad things about the hotel, one was a bad staff member who did nothing to help us. Another was the fact that the pool heater was broken and rail to get into the hot tub was broken, our sink was leaking.

A gem of a resort hotel whose newness/freshness, amenities, service ethic, and room rates all combine to make it a veritable treasure in Key West. New pillow-top mattresses for every room arrived while we were guests. After a week's stay, we left with only pleasurable memories.

Awesome pool, its sloped like the beach. The room service is great with huge servings; you don't even have to call in breakfast. You hang the order on the door, as well as when you want your room cleaned. Very friendly and helpful staff. Overall, a great place if you don't want to be in Old Town.

The thing I liked best about the Doubletree Grand Key Resort was its convenience. It was not located on a very commercial area on Key West, which added to the more exotic and remote feeling, but the staff at the Doubletree saw to it that we were taken ANYWHERE on the island for FREE. They advertise complimentary shuttles to and from Duval Street, but the offer also stood for the airport and beach. The staff was also very accommodating after we checked out-- they held our luggage for us and allowed us to use all the resort's amenities while we enjoyed the rest of our day, and drove us back to the airport when we were ready to go. We could use some of the money we saved by not renting a car or hiring cabs to tip our drivers. You can also rent mopeds at the resort for a reasonable fee. The room was not super luxurious, but it was clean and comfortable and more than worth the price we paid.

My husband and I stayed at the Doubletree Grand Key Resort during the week between Christmas and New Years. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Our room was moderately priced for this time period. It was clean; our room service was good; the Palm Haven Resturant inside the hotel, was also nice and we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We didn't get to enjoy the pool due to the cool weather, but it was beautiful. We appreciated the free shuttle to downtown Key West!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Doubletree. The room was clean and nicely decorated, but not very large. The location of the resort was driving distance from all the downtown activity, however, they did provide a free schuttle service which left the resort every hour. There was a $10 a day charge for parking your car at the resort. Therefore the schuttle service was not entirely free. We spent most of our time in downtown Key West, therefore, we did not spend much time at the resort, but everyone at the resort was friendly and helpful.

The personal balcony was definitely an added luxury. We were able to enjoy the sunset and the moonlight while sitting on the balcony sipping wine. It was incredibly romantic and just overall wonderful for our second anniversary. Furthermmore, our last night we had a chance to go to the poolside bar. That was also a wonderful, enjoyable time with an exceedingly nice bartender. The pool was beautiful and the layout really makes you feel that you've escaped to a wonderful tropical island. Keep up the Great work. Oh, by the way, the "welcome hot cookies" were such a sweet way of making us feel we made the right choice by choosing this hotel!
