| The room smelled very smokey. (It was a non-smoking room.) I was charged an extra $8.00 to park the car in the parking lot outside the room. Our room was on the sixth floor and the elevator was broken.

| I read the other reviews and saw only a few negatives. When my husband and I got there, the staff was fantastic!! Friendly and willing to assist in any way. It IS truely "on the beach". We luckily got an ocean front room and the view was unreal. We were there Labor Day weekend, the 3 pools would get a little crowded, but it did not, by any means, ruin the trip. Drinks are pricey, so we mixed our own. Food at Durango's, good. Rooms are a little dated. Bathrooms small. (but I did not go there to be in the bathroom) Housekeeping does come at random times, but we only requested our room be cleaned once. The only thing that stuck out to me were the ceiling tiles needed to be replaced, as there was a drop ceiling in our room. Not a wild night life (we are 29 and 30 y/o no kids), but there are plenty of good places to eat close, we walked a lot of times, but most would probably drive. Security walks around daily and at night. Did not like $8 per day parking, but it is gated. Beach is clean and RIGHT THERE. Did not find snorkeling, however. We would most definately go back to this resort.

| Stayed at the Sirata from July 22 through July 30th, in building 1, a one bedroom suite. Everything was great about this resort. Room was very large, bedding comfortable, bathroom was huge. Amenities in room include all kitchen supplies, bath and body works toiletries, etc. Staff pleasant, beach beautiful. Lots of "within walking distance of the hotel" restaurants. Extra: Take a side trip north to Tarpon Springs, well worth the 45 min drive.

| If you are expecting to be at a luxurious hotel, look somewhere else. That said, we found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. Try to get a room on the upper floors to get a view of the beach. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Nice to have the beach right there though we spent a lot of time at the pools. Did not try any of the on premises restaurants. Like others, we went to the grocery store and stocked up on beverages, snacks & breakfast. Kitchenette was servicable, but don't expect to make meals there. Full size fridge but NO MICROWAVE (???) or dishwasher. Laundry facilities helped out. One picky complaint would be the quality of beach towels. As others commented, don't understand the parking fee. We were near one of the bars and it can get a bit noisy at night. All in all an enjoyable trip.

| After reading many reviews I was quite apprehensive about staying at the Sirata. My family stayed from June 5-11. When we arrived the front desk was very polite. One of the rooms wasn't ready yet so they held the family we were with bags and we went to use the pool and beach. We ate at the Mangrove Grill when we arrived and the food was good. Especially the chicken strips. I cannot comment on the Durango steakhouse since we never ate there. They were both very good. We stayed in tower 4 and had a famiy suite. For a good quality vacation at a fraction of the price of some of the other hotels, I would recommend the Sirata.

| Good place to take a family. Nice pool in the courtyard and the hotel is right on the beach. The room was cleaned well each day. Cabana rental is a bit pricey but we mostly just put towels on the beach. Suggest staying on 2nd floor, lots of ground floor traffic. My only complaint was the shower, just a trickle, poor water pressure. Steakhouse in hotel good. Overall, nice place to stay. We plan on going back.

| Very nice accomodations, very pretty and relaxing place. The Mango Grille was a nice place for lunch. We didn't care much for Durangos though. We didn't have a car(we planned on just relaxing between pools and beach) so parking was not a issue for us. There was a grogery store close by where we bought fruit & snacks to stock our little refrigerator. It was just great!!

| The Sirata is great. I was a little worried about some bad reviews, but I found that none of them were true. This hotel is extremely nice. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. Great breakfast at the Manigrove Grill. We had a great view of the beach from our fifth floor room, which was more than expected. Not much shopping in the area, but the trolley stops out front of the Sirata and can take you to shops like John's Pass. Having access to the beach is a plus, paying the $15 day fee for the cabannas is worth it. Only bad thing was that we arrived at 2:00 and could not check in till 4:00, but after getting our room I'm glad we waited for it. Some people were able to check in earlier though, I think it depends on the type of room you want. I recommend the Sirata to everyone!!! I can't wait to go back

| After reading some of the other reviews, we were looking forward to The Sirata. We knew not to expect a top-quality hotel, but still, we were quite disappointed. Within hours after check-in, we discovered we had little bugs all over our suite--on the sink counters, couch, etc. Management tried to convince us that we should stay in the room after they sprayed the room for bugs!!! After we refused, they insisted they were sold out, and could not provide another room. Only after we demanded a full refund did they miraculously "discover" an unused suite that we moved into. Housekeeping was terrible and workers were rude, and even the most basic service was terrible. I would never, ever go back to The Sirata--even for a free holiday.

| We stayed at the Sirata for 3 nights (May 12th-14th 2005). We requested a Gulf view room but were given no guarantees. As we figured, we didn't end up with the Gulf view--kind of disappointing. We stayed in a suite with a kitchenette. It had a full size refridgerator, stove, coffee maker, toaster and sink. The kitchen was stocked with pots and pans, silverware, bowls, plates etc. We went to the grocery store and got groceries and saved money by not going to restaurants for every meal. The room was very nicely set up and the bed was the most comfortable out of the three hotels we stayed at during our vacation but the carpets were absolutely filthy! Our kids feet got black from walking on them barefoot. The maid service always managed to forget something, like leaving coffee, klenex or T.P. But when we called housekeeping they came right away with whatever we needed. There were staff members stationed all over and they were very friendly, kind of made you feel safe knowing that they were out there keeping an eye on things. The beach was very nice and clean and not crowded. The hotel has 3 pools and at times could be very crowded. The hotel has 2 restaurants and we went to Durango's. The food was good and so was the sevice. Overall our stay there was a good one. The only thing that really sticks out is the gross carpet conditions. If it was just my husband and I it wouldn't have been too much of a issue but children tend to want to sit on the carpet etc. YUCK!

| Sirata resort itself is great as location, service needs improvements,at Durango Steakhouse the sevice is poor, when the restaurant half empty they make you wait 35 minutes to be seated at a table,At the Mangrove Grill chose something from the menu and they do not serve it as printed on the menu, and only when you asking the waiter they apologize for it. In our suite the bathroom sink was too slow to drain out, they came to fix it and didnt improve at all. Too bad, all this left us with a bad impression!

This would be a great resort for a family, but as single females, we did not have many options around for nightlife without having to get a taxi. Also, Durango's steakhouse is fabulous.
