Jekyll Island Club Hotel Amenities
Originally built as an exclusive island getaway for the likes of William Rockefeller and J.P. Morgan, this Victorian-era resort was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1978. Restoration during the 1980s established the resort as a historic hotel with modern amenities in unspoiled natural surroundings. The hotel consists of three main buildings surrounded by landscaped grounds in the center of the Jekyll Island Historic District. Period furnishings and ornate woodwork inside complement the atmosphere created by an exterior tower, bay windows, and verandas. Several boutiques and collectible shops now operate on site. Business facilities include eight meeting rooms and a ballroom for 150. The hotel also offers complimentary transportation throughout the island.

In addition to its heated outdoor pool, the resort operates the Surfside Beach Club on a private beach on the Atlantic Ocean, less than a mile away. The hotel has bicycles for rent and offers a children's program for kids ages 5–12 from late May to mid-August. A lawn for croquet and bocce ball and a putting green are also located on the property. Jekyll Island offers four challenging golf courses—three with 18 holes and one with 9. Indoor and outdoor tennis courts are also available. The island is environmentally protected, with 10 miles of beach and 20 miles of jogging and biking trails. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

| An experience of a lifetime, this hotel is truly a blast from the past! Nestled among the old homes of the rich, the Jeckell Island Club is a romantic getaway that has no rivals. Walking or biking along the water and through out the grounds, great meals, and a big wicker rocker on an old wooden porch. Who could ask for more?

| We go to Jekyll Island a couple of times a year to bike a series of bike paths around the island. We always time the biking to be at the Cafe Soltera for lunch. Don't miss the "farmer's pot soup" or the cookies! This time we were able to stay in the hotel; it's a fascinating trip into the past.

| Jekyll is a wonderful spot, service excellent and all people very friendly.... food however was very disappointing, the ambiance was great but could not offset poor efforts of chef, especially at a premium price point. stay there but eat elsewhere

| Room was tired and old. Looked shabby. Bathroom was even older. Hotel definately need an update. I have stayed in other historic hotels that were much nicer than this. The only thing that made it worthwhile was the great rate from expedia.
