| Westwood Lodge is just minutes away from the Franz Josef Glacier and the huge, empty, amazing Westland National Park. The lodge has views of the majestic Southern Alps and lush native bush. There is nothing on ice here only warm friendly hospitality. We offer comfort in our rooms which are individually decorated and have luxurious appointments and in our public guest rooms - the lounge,dining and bar area has a large open fire, comfortable couchs, picture window and access to books, CD player, table games and a well stocked bar. Dinner is a 3 course feast featuring the best the west has to offer and our selection of South Island wines compliment the food.

| The lounge, dining room and rooms are gorgeous, extremely well-maintained and very clean. The hosts are affable and offer a gourmet dinner at extra cost, which was quite good. Met interesting people from Venezuela over dinner. Have to note that the lodge was not aware that I had an Expedia reservation, and couldn't find it even after I showed them the paperwork. Also, the requested wakeup call to make a glacier tour didn't happen (reminded the hosts 3 times the previous day, just had that feeling) It's a great place to stay, but call to confirm the reservation and bring an alarm clock.
