| Our main memory from this Burton Inn was the incredible fragrance of lavender everywhere. You can't really ask for much more for this price range - clean, comfortable and located in the heart of "downtown". The beach is only a short walk away as you pass by local coffee shops and stores. The continental breakfast was simple and filling, and if you want more, there's a French bakery minutes away.

| We were very impressed with the size of the rooms in our 2 room suite. Very nicely furnished and the bedding was very luxurious. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. The nightly wine reception was also very nice. If you are going to Hearst Castle, we would highly recommend The Burton Inn. Would also recommend the Black Cat Restaurant in Cambria. Excellent food and walking distance from the hotel.

| My goal was to find a hotel that was centrally located (near restaurants and entertainment) as well as comfortable with some added amenities. So, we paid a bit more for a "grand suite." But it didn't come close to grand. The stopper in the sink didn't work, there was no one at the front desk the majority of the time, and you could hear people in the room above walking around. The accomodations were basic; there was nothing plush about them. It was just not what I would expect for the money we paid.
