Features
What to expect: A black-and-white marble entryway with cherry-wood columns and an exposed-brick wall opens onto a sitting area illuminated by a lofty sloping skylight. Business travelers socialize by a large marble fireplace flanked by torch-like light fixtures. Leisure travelers attracted to the Hilton's 15-mile proximity to downtown Boston frequent the hotel on weekends.

Amenity highlights: A spacious, skylit lobby steps down into a lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows, comfy bench seating, and whimsical light fixtures. Wide hallways lead to the hotel's formal dining room by way of a Starbucks coffee bar. Recreational opportunities abound at the Hilton, from outdoor tennis courts and half-court basketball to the indoor skylit lap pool, upgraded fitness center, and racquetball courts.

Insider tip: The hotel is 5 miles from the entrance to the 7,000-acre Blue Hills Reservation, with 125 miles of hiking trails. Great Blue Hill, with an altitude of 635 feet, is the highest of the 22 hills in the chain and affords panoramic views of the metropolitan area from its craggy summit. Rattlesnake Hill attracts rock climbers, and Houghton's Pond is a popular swimming hole.

The Fountain Blue Grille - Overlooking the garden courtyard, this restaurant has skylights, white-and-teal table linens, and crimson walls with white molding. The Grille serves a daily breakfast buffet and dinner Monday through Friday, with an emphasis on American bistro fare.

Lobby Lounge - Open from afternoon until late evening for lunch and dinner, the lounge has floor-to-ceiling windows, whimsical light fixtures, and a long curving bar. Lighter fare includes salads, sandwiches, and burgers. A full bar is open late seven nights a week.

1 block from train station is a great plus. Room should have been cleaner for my liking. Staff was very helpful. All in all..not bad.

We found the desk staff to be unusually effecient. This was quite possibly the quickest checkin I've everhad. The room had an interesting window seating area, that overlooked woods and a trail. The room was clean, very comfortable. The television didn't work very well. The order-in breakfast was of very poor quality. Overpriced french toast, no syrup, and was very soggy. A bagel we ordered was also toasted, but also soggy. I don't mind an expensive breakfast, but this was worse then a Denny's. Other then the food, I'd rank this hotel highly especially if your just staying one night.

Apparently there was a group of young hockey players staying at the hotel while we were there....they had a party in the hallway outside of our room. I finally called the front desk at 11:30 pm and it was quickly resolved. I expressed my concerns to a very nice front desk clerk in the moring. I believe that extra security should have been on duty that night due to the rowdy kids and other events going on. At this point I do not plan to return to this hotel. I realize that this can happen at any hotel, but I will try my luck elsewhere next time I go to Boston.

Hotel is extremely isolated -- 15 miles from City. A five block walk -- easy walk -- gets one to the commuter train station. Conditions not ideal -- but may be worth the savings. Hotel suffers from its remote location. Rooms fine.
