| Piersland Lodge was built in 1899 by the renowned Scottish architect, William Leiper, as the home for Sir Alexander Walker, founder of the Scotch whisky firm. Now a grade A listed building, all original features remain including wood panelling, stone fireplaces, wood carvings and a Jacobean embroidery frieze by the tapestry to King George V. The hotel is set in an acre of beautifully landscaped Gardens including an oriental garden.
