| We were very pleasantly surprised by this Hotel considering the price. Actually when we booked this hotel, expedia had rated this 3.5 stars. However, every other site and Foscari Palace itself says it's rated 4 stars. It certainly looked like it was 4 star. Very nice location. About 10mins from St Marks square. Right on the grand canal. We had a standard room and it had a side view of the canal. We weren't expecting a view at all. The rooms are excellent. My only complaint is that their standard room had 2 double beds joined together instead of one queen or king size bed. This wasn't much of an issue for either me or my wife. There is an large LCD TV in the room AND there is free internet in the room (which came in really handy). All other italy hotels we stayed in charged for internet and most didn't have it avaialble in the room... only in the lobby. There is a vey nice view of the grand canal from the rooftop where you can have drinks most times of the day or night. The breakfast was included in the price to our surprise and it was relatively elaborate and all the food was very fresh with good service. Highly recommended!!

| Venice is a pricey destination in just about every respect, but Foscari is an excellent value and well worth the price. Immaculate interior decor, receptive and knowledgeable staff, outstanding service across the board, and of course the rooms. We have traveled to many European countries and this is the first time I have seen a bathroom of this size and caliber. The Jacuzzi/bath and piped in music if you so desire are all great touches. The breakfast buffet is simply fantastic. On the 3rd floor, you can go up the stairs to the rooftop where there are chairs and tables and enjoy one of the most breathtaking views of the Grand Canal. Location is a big plus. Foscari is just a couple of minutes away from the Ca d Oro water bus stop that brought us to every stop on our must see list. There is also a grocery store that sells everything at a reasonable price. There are several restaurants, bars, gellato stands, pizza and kebab places to suit all taste. Even a McDonalds is just around the corner from the hotel. Foscari is just a hop, skip and a jump or boat ride away from all the main sights and attractions, yet far enough from the crowd and touristy atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place to anyone thinking of visiting Venice.

| Awesome value, great staff, extremely confortable bed in a great location. Right next to the vaparetto stop (Ca D'Oro) with great restaurants and bars near by. Close walk to lots of sights, far enough away from St. Mark's to not be crowded, but close enough to walk. We would definitely recommend this.

| Small, lovely hotel on Grand Canal just far away enough from St. Mark's area to get a better feel for Venice and to avoid some of the noise. Bright, updated, and classy! Great breakfast included and a beautiful view of the city from the rooftop bar. Helpfull staff - deserving of it's 4-star rating (3 1/2 with Expedia).

| We chose the hotel based on various reviews and I agree.... it was great. The location was excellent, the staff was courteous, the room was comfy, and the breakfast was plentiful. The only drawback was that the air conditioning wasn't turned on yet (they apparently switch over at the end of May). With the window open it was sufficiently cool at night, but then we got some "street" noise and construction noise in the morning from the workers next door. If it had been a few degrees warmer at night, I would have been miserable! But everything else about the hotel was excellent.

| This was my first time booking a vacation through Expedia. Based on reviews, I chose this hotel. I was impressed! The hotel was conveniently located nearby a vaporatto station on the Grand Canal. Our room was very clean and the sheets were soft! Based on some reviews, I expected our room to be small but it wasn't. We had more than enough space to fit our large bulky luggage. Their breakfast was one of the best I've ever had with plenty of choices to satisfy anyone's diet. The staff was very friendly and informative. They helped us with travel arrangements to the airport and informed us of the time change (daily savings time comes earlier in Europe). This hotel is nearby all the major sites in Venice. So it was convenient just to walk everywhere. The only reservation I had with this hotel was that we had to leave our room key with the front desk each time we left our room. I thought it was odd. We kept all our valuables in the room's safe and had no problems at all.

| Selected the Foscari based on favorable reviews that I had read, and it did not disappoint. Lovely hotel, very nice rooms (the shower is an adventure) and located right next to the Ca D'or vaporetti stop, which makes getting around very easy. Hotel is about 15 minutes max walk to St Marks, La Fenice, less to Rialto bridge. We went to the music night in the hotel (Saturdays and usually one other night)--very nice. Harpist and flutist playing classical music for several hours. The prosecco flowed and sweets were also provided. Note that since hotel is on the grand canal, that means beautiful views but also boat noise. Also, the palazzo next door is under renovation (as of 4/2006)--workmen show up at 7:15. I wear earplugs so none of this was a problem, but if you are sensitive to noise, be aware. The afternoon/evening front desk clerk was a gem--the day shift was less than helpful on more than one occasion.
