| When we first arrived for a late check-in the hotel staff was not very curteous. The check-in clerk was more concerned that her ride home was waiting for her in the parking lot than taking care of the customer. The parking garage, hotel exterior and lobby areas are out of date and run down. But all was forgiven once we got into our room. It is obvious that the hotel spent time to renovate the rooms prior to the others areas of the hotel, which is where it really counts. We had a corner room, which was spacious, clean and had great views of the lake and the city. Also, the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The room was more than worth the price. A good place to stay if you are not planning on hanging around the pool and relaxing.

| This is the first time I have been disappointed with an Expedia hotel. If we had not had to get to a wedding, we would have tried to find another hotel. The whole place was dirty. I can understand a hotel being worn, but there is no excuse for the condition of this hotel.

| The Ivanhoe Plaza Hotel was probably one of the nicer stays I've had. It's a little bit run down, but it was so quiet inside the hotel. There weren't tons of people running around with their noisy kids. It's being remodeled and that's pretty obvious when you walk in. The bathrooms weren't all that impressive, they're starting to show wear, and the shower would not get hot when we first arrived at check in (3pm). By the time we got back at around 2am, the water was working properly. Regardless of the minor repairs needed, we would stay here again just for the feeling of being the only ones in the hotel.

| The hotel staff was very helpful. They offered driving tips (how to avoid the traffic), restaurant recommendations, and plenty of info about things to do within my available timeframe. Following the advice of the valet, getting to the highway was a breeze. The hotel rooms are starting to show some age (discolored and worn sink & fixtures), the elevators looked neglected, and I had some doubts about the attention of the housekeeping staff (multiple hairs on counter and coffee pot). However, the hotel is overall clean, polished and attractive. It offers a great view and is convenietent to clubs and restaurants.
