| If you need a quiet, friendly place to lay your head in the middle of Virginia on I-81, this Super 8 is the place to do it. I've stayed at this Super 8 about 7 times over the past several years, as "just" a couple, and now with 2 children, and always found it clean and respectable. Our typical trip is a late night stop-in, and pick up a quick bite to eat at the continental breakfast and get back on the road. Even though you see a few different faces each time, the service has been consistently good. The rooms are clean, and the staff has always been friendly . . . even when we roll in at 1 am . . . with 2 children . . . and no reservations. They have recently remodeled some (if not all) of the rooms, so they look clean and feel "new." Beds are comfortable, TV screen is "big" with enough channels for everyone (important when the kids need a 1/2 hour of entertainment, or just so you can rest late and catch some morning news). The only things keeping me from a higher review is: tiny towels that you need 2 for a shower, this is okay when it's just you and your spouse, but bad when the kids need a bath, too; the continental breakfast was a little skimpy at our most recent visit, when it used to have a few more options Occasionally, we have price shopped the other hotels and the Super 8 rates are lower than any other right off the exit. None of the other hotels provide services that go far beyond the Super 8, so we've stayed where we feel welcome, safe, and cared for.
