| Stopped here for one night with my wife and daughter en route to a New England vacation. Surprised by condition of property on the outside--it looked tired, and the groundskeeping was poor. Room was smallish but adequate, and we liked the fact that it had two queen-sized beds rather than two doubles. Curiously, the room was frigid; air conditioning was set extremely low. Did management know something we didn't? Who knows. In any event, we never got comfortable because the entire room had a feeling of dampness to it. The bed sheets felt damp, and so did the carpeting on the floor. Connecticut and other parts of the northeast had had enormous amounts of rain in the weeks before we arrived; maybe there had been some incident with the room that contributed to this. We mentioned the situation to management upon checkout, and we heard them direct a maintenance person to check into the problem. One saving grace: the attached restaurant was a spectacular, upscale surprise, with a fantastic and innovative menu. It was almost empty on the Monday evening we were there, but we had a very relaxing time and a very good meal.
