Features
What to expect: Built as a brick warehouse in the 1880s and converted to a hotel in 1998, the 52-room inn attracts business travelers with its tranquil ambience and leisure travelers with its waterfront location in Historic Charleston's fine-dining-restaurant district of quiet streets lined with palmetto palms.
Amenity highlights: Featuring West Indian decor in tribute to Charleston's historical Caribbean trade, the hotel includes two intimate second-floor lobbies. One includes a pine floor, gas fireplace, wood-paddle ceiling fans, and windows facing the harbor. The second borders a skylighted atrium and serves as a hospitality center for deluxe Continental breakfast, evening wine and cheese, after-dark cookies and milk, and 24-hour coffee and tea service--all complimentary.
Insider tip: Across the street from the hotel, Waterfront Park offers tree-shaded seating, a fountain with splash deck for children, and a 500-foot pier jutting into Charleston Harbor that has covered seating, swings, and views of passing ships and the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Yorktown moored across the harbor.
All guests have the option of a complimentary deluxe Continental breakfast served each morning to guests' rooms, in a hospitality lobby, or on a fourth-floor terrace overlooking Charleston Harbor. In the lobby, wine and cheese are served evenings, cookies and milk served nights, and coffee and tea are available around the clock--all complimentary. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but there are numerous dining options within the surrounding area. Nearby restaurants: Magnolia's Cypress High Cotton

| The hotel was very well maintained, the staff was attentive and the location was good. The only complaint was the hot water for tea was luke warm, but as a tea drinker, I encounter this problem more often than you think.

| We had a wonderful visit. The hotel is great. There is a terrace on the building for all hotel guests to use. So even if you do not get a waterfront room (or pay for it) you can enjoy the wonderful views. The room is well appointed with wood furnishings and a fabulous bathroom. We were very comfortable. Included in the price of the room was a morning continental breakfast delivered to our room, an early evening wine and cheese (kids love cheese)hour and late night cookies and milk. The hotel felt fancy but our family with a 4 and 10 yr old did not feel out of place. So nice but not pretentious. The location is great. Walking distance to the market area, all the dining Charleston has to offer and a lovely little pier. But I cannot forget to mention the fountain at Waterfront Park (just outside the hotel's front door) that kids can actually play in! We will stay here again. Nothing negative to report.

| Nice hotel room fairly large. The M&M's and Jelly Belly's and iced tea in the lobby all day as well as the reception, cookies and breakfast were appreciated . We were there in an extrem heat wave and the room was a bit warm but not terribly uncomfortable enough to make it unbearable. Great location, lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Walking distance to many things in Historic District. Would stay there again on a future trip.

| We've just returned from a wonderful visit to Charleston. We were so fortunate to have booked a room at the HarbourView Inn. The location is walking distance to everything, and the service was excellent. There was nothing the front desk couldn't do for us. We loved our morning breakfasts delivered to our room, and the wine and cheese was a perfect pick-me-up. We will definitely return!

| We were SO impressed with this hotel. The room was huge (though we did happen to get a corner room, so we're not sure how it compares to others in the hotel). The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the little perks like cookies and milk, and wine and cheese hours were a nice touch. Our only complaint was the parking issue -- we were told we had to valet the car, but later found out there's a garage down the way we could have put it in. Still, this was not that big of a hassle, we just would have liked to have known about this option ahead of time. Overall, though, this is a great hotel with lovely views of the harbor and an elegant feel.

| I have stayed in this hotel several times before. The location is hard to beat. Unless you are lucky and get a room on the harbor side there really aren't any views. No restaurant but a great breakfast is available in the room.

| Very nice hotel, great location. Great staff. Nice amenities ie: free breakfast either in room, on roof terrace, or in lounge, coffee and tea service 24hrs, wine and cheese in the afternoon, warm cookies & milk in the evening. Only thing missing is a hotel bar but The Griffin Tavern is just two doors down.

| Visit was just ok. Never had enough wash clothes, when we arrived there were none. We had to call for some and ran out again. The bed was a full size, not even a Queen, certainly not a king. The water view was great however. There was no business center so that I could check my e-mails.

| This hotel is located on the waterfront at the waterfront park.Excellent walk along the pier for us (old people) but great fun for the kids.A fountain they play in and around.Swings under cover, perfect for romance and quiet talks. There is no better location in Charleston.I understand that asking for the room with the brick wall, you will get the room with the best views.Roof top terrace has an excellent view of the harbor. The presence of a culinary school nearby means great chefs are in most upscale resturants. These young chefs are eager to please and share with the customers. Only drawback, this hotel does not have a kitchen.Plenty of 5 star resturants within 2 blocks, but if you want room service the pizza delivery is all there is.
