The cabins are close to downtown Gatlinburg (less than 3 miles)which was exactly where we wanted to be. Our cabin was large and mountain style as you would expect. But when we checked in we had to go to the supermarket(9pm)to purchase light bulbs to replace 5 non-working bulbs. The sleeper sofa's mattress had been removed, so it sank to the floor if you sat on it. With the wood frame cutting into the back of your thighs, it was useless. Since it was the only furniture opposite the TV in the living room,it made that space unusable. The TV in the master bedroom had been removed, so if you wanted to sit or lie down for TV, it was on the floor. Linens were threadbare and the sink stopper didn't work. The shower curtain was covered with mold. No maid service meant hauling wet towels to the office to "exchange" clean ones. For the same money we could have stayed anywhere else in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, and next time we will.

The cabin we had at Mountain Shadows was terrific. Spacious, clean and fully equipped. The best feature was the hot tub. Our kids loved it so much we added a night to our stay. You should go see for yourself!!

I stayed at Mountain Shadow Resort in "Out On A Limb." It was a tidy LITTLE one bedroom cabin with loads of luxury! The interior of the cabin was great, but after taking a walk around outside...I recommend staying in. They are doing construction on other cabins in the area and there is construction litter everywhere. However, there is so much to do inside (like soak in the garden tub, or the balcony hot tub, and relax and watch tv, or just enjoy the silence) that staying inside is a great idea. The MSR is also located very close to downtown Gatlinburg, Piegon Forge, the mountains, and a wonderful little arts and crafts community. I will return, and I would encourage friends to try it out!

More than what I expected. The cabin was a two story cabin that was all pine board inside with a hot tub and a whirlpool tub. Both levels had a fireplace, a big T.V., a dvd player, and a bathroom. Nice big kitchen also. Great stay, especially for visiting Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Because we reserved a King size bed, there was a pool table on the lower floor. I recommend the Blue Mountain View cabin.

Cabin was bueatiful inside & out. Had pool table, and hottub. Very nice for the price, but it was off season when we went. There was no maid service though. I've never stayed in a cabin before, and maybee thats normal. But anyway I enjoyed it alot.

This place was so special, quiet, romantic, peaceful and just wonderful. The cabin was more than we expected. We can't wait to come back again sometime soon. This was a time to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and since he works 12 hrs a day, 7 days a week, this R & R time was precious. You will love this place!

Compared to staying in a trditional hotel having your own private cabin is the way to go. The cabin itself was much larger than a hotel. The best thing though by far was having your own private hot tub. The price was the best deal being the same as a quality hotel room.
