| If you are going to Big Bear rent a woodsy cabin, don't stay at the Northwoods. Our room was ready 1 1/2 hours AFTER check-in time. No offer was made for compensation...not even a drink in the bar! The rooms, although clean, were worn and in need of maintenance. The rest of the facility was the same. The hotel seemed short staffed and rundown.

| Average rooms and a bit small. Nice pool. Hotel is like a large motel that looks to be around 30 years old or more. Walk to restaurants in the village. Can walk down to the lake from hotel also.

| Minor problems: Pillow case was pretty dirty, lightbulb was not working, toilet seat needed to be fixed. Housekeeping was responsive and front desk was helpful.

| In the hopes of a relaxing weekend, we went to Northwoods only to find a noisy hotel made of paper thin walls. Nothing was done when we called the front desk to complain. A special brunch was set up on Sunday, only we were not told of it, and had to leave the hotel to eat or wait until 3PM. All the front desk could say was that were sorry, oh well. Definitely not worth the price, one can rent a private cabin for what this "resort" is asking.

| We spent Easter weekend here with our children. Very close to the ski resorts, restaurants and town shopping. Our room was on the 4th floor and a little too cozy for two adults and two children. They do have other rooms that are more spacious so make sure you ask about room details. Our room would have been great for a romantic weekender. The room was clean, decorated in cabin type rustic items and supplied with basic tolietries. The heated pool and spa here is awesome!

| The bed and pillows were not very comfortable. The staff was helpful and satisfied our request for a larger room @ no extra cost. The place is perfectly located and make sit easy to get to all the skiing and village activities.I would recommend bringing your own pillow.
