| Beautiful location in the friendly, sometimes overly laid-back Dominican Republic. The beach was gorgeous, although they don't provide enough beach chairs. The food was OK - the four "restaurants" were not always available, and food was limited. The buffet was OK. Front desk was accomodating, but slow.

| My family and I decided to go to the Dominican Republic after our previous plan to go to Cancun fell through(Hurricane). We were very glad went to the Dominican instead. The people are so friendly, the beach at our hotel was the best of all, the food was constant and it was good, and the drinks never quit flowing. We are planning to return next year because we had such a great time. If you go make sure you bring gifts for your maids, as they enjoy american chocolates very much. Very well priced, and the goods in the Dominican are very reasonable also. We were very pleased at the hotel that there is no need to tip unless you feel necessary. This was not the case as I have been to Cancun before. Can't wait to return next year!

| Our room was disappointing, but adequate. All the resturants weren't open when we were there, but the dinner buffett was excellent. Recommend the cook to order pasta. Beach was great, although no wind (went to windsurf). Good swell for boogie boarding and body surfing. Hotel needs to supply more boogie boards. Activities all day long including volleyball, bocci ball, horseshoes etc. Very easy to stay entertained. Certainly need to stock more tequila, first "margarita's" I've had made with vodka.

| We were not satisfied with the first room and were transferred to a pool view room which was hot in the afternoon. Buffet time were not always respected by about 30 minutes. Variety of food but we were surprised that in an island exporting fruits, the choice was not only limited but the quality was poor (Ex: papayas). Overall: great Location, great beach, great surf, relaxing, but no night entertainment.

| I was weary before I left for Puerto Plata because of the very different reviews regarding this hotel. However, I would like to clear the record and say that I was beyond impressed with the hotel. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the beach is a step away, they are very clean, the food and drinks were amazing, and above all, the people and service were fantastic. I can't wait to go back again! PS--I walked the entire beach every day and none of the other hotels were as nice as this one.
