| The concept(s) are great and it is in a good location. A snowboarding hotel where more goes than the traditional hotel but the room was small and poorly lighted. Comfort was low and the main thing they did in the rooms was put a coat of cool paint on the wall. The vibe was good and environment lively but the hotel itself needs upgrading. It was not worth the money that I paid.

| Be careful. This hotel has 2 different properties. One is somewhat remodeled but still at the motel level (not a 3 star for sure), but the other is a dirty, smelly, noisy low budget motel. Pictures on Expedia look a lot nicer than this place in reality. Thumbs up - friendly staff, free internet, free movies, free games (PS2 in the room).

| As far as recommending this hotel to others that is hard to answer, I would not recommend this hotel to say my parents or someone in my age range, however if you are between 18 and 25 maybe 30 this is the place to stay. They are designed for the snowboarders and do a great job at that. The staff was wonderful and enjoyed what they were doing. I understand that they have a hotel in Big Bear as well that is nicer than this one. I would like to visit it someday.

| The Block isn't a new hotel, but 2 old hotels that have been converted. It is great for the 18-30 party crowd & is probably a blast in the winter.

| Unfortunately a thin coat of white-wash coupled with the addition of some cheap novelties does not turn a NO star hotel into a THREE star hotel. You put lipstick on a pig and you still get a pig. There are numerous other motels and hotels with one, two, and three star ratings in the immediate area that provide genuine quality lodgings. If you are over the age of 22 and appreciate value for your hard earned $$$ almost any other lodgings in the area will provide superior value.

| We thought this would be a hip place for our teenagers but even they didn't like it. Rooms are very small and everything is old and falling apart. Shower didn't work properly. Hotel did nothing. One bed was slanting due to a bent leg. Hotel did nothing. There are no Kleenex or hairdryers standard in the room. No air conditioning or microwave. Rap music in the office has disgusting XXX language. Couldn't check out until 9am on 7/9/05 because (I was told) the person looking after the desk didn't show up for work (the office is suppose to be 24hrs). The kids at the front desk have a "don't care attitude. This is a small operation and poorly maintained. I would give this hotel 1 star and most definitely not 3. We will never stay there again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

| Let's see where to start. The desk clerk could not find our Expedia reservations. The reception area pounds with rap music that offends even liberal ears. The standard rooms are small. Two lights in the room barely provided enough light to see let alone read a book. Cheap bathroom towels. Hotel guests tend to come and go at all hours of the morning and they tend to be very loud. Had some guests store their coolers under our hotel room window, not their window. At 2 am they came back and began opening the coolers looking for sodas and beers then stood around talking and drinking. Basically, the rooms are overpriced for what you get. The place is a repainted old motel. The positive is that you are a short walk from the casinos but that is not enough to recommend the place unless you enjoy all of the aforementioned issues.

| This was definetly more than I expected. If your a snowboarder you definetly want to stay here. It has a great vibe and comfortable rooms. The staff is very nice and helpful and the hotel has lots to do! Right next to all the casinos! This is my hotel of choice everytime I go to Tahoe from now on.
