| This small, trendy hotel is ideally located on a charming cobbled-stone pedestrian in the "upper city" at the Place d'Armes (where the artist alley, finiculiar, Chateau Frontenac & tourist office are located.) The rooms minimalistic decor is intended to portray a chic, boutique-style hotel but falls short as the room lacks function. There is a multi-functional unit in the room that serves as a desk-bar-armoire but the storage space is very limited and accomodates about 4 clothes hangers. (There are no closet or door hooks for hanging clothes otherwise in the room.) Although other reviewers had noted this shortcoming, I thought as seasoned travelers it would not be an issue for a short stay. However, after two days we all found it very annoying due to the room configuration and furniture placement which restricts movement and makes the option of "living out of a suitcase" impractical. As a former hotelier for 23 years, I could see that rooms and public areas also had not been throughly cleaned or maintained in what is essentially a new property. On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable, the shower terrific, the location superb and the staff cordial - but unfortunately the hotel lacks the qualities experienced travellers would expect from a 3-star hotel in a comparable price range.

| This Hotel in the center of quebec is really a good choice. It's a new hotel but in an old building : everything is clean, the rooms are nice with brownstone wall and design bathroom. I will definitly go back there. It's close to a lot of attractions and restaurants : it's a go base-camp to discover the city.

| we couldn't have been more pleased. friendly, helpful staff, attractive accomodations, on a pedestrian street with the ambience of France. we especially liked being in the heart of the old city, only steps away from its sights and sounds. the street performers were a constant surprise and delight, such as the aging opera singer who sat on her stool singing memorable tunes or the bagpipe band that marched regally through the town.......parking at nearby garage, paid for by the hotel, was a plus........a map of how to get from the highway to the hotel would have been great and saved us from wondering round at the end of a long drive from Vermont.

| The hotel's location on a pedestrian street in the old city is great, and the staff is friendly. The room (junior suite) was small and had almost no view out the windows, but it was clean and recently remodeled in a very modern style. There were a few glitches. The bathroom was very stylish, but there is almost no counter or shelf space for toiletries. There is frosted glass between the bathroom and bedroom, so if the bathroom light is on, it lights up the whole bedroom. The lighting in the elevator was attractive, but so dim that it was very hard to read the numbers on the buttons. (It wasn't just us - we heard other guests comment on the problem.) Breakfast was included, but you get better food if you go out for breakfast. The staff gave us incorrect directions on how to find the local laundromat. On my next trip, would I go back to the Sainte Anne for its location and character, or choose one of the modern hotels outside the old city to get more space, more consistent service and a view out the window? I don't know. It's a tough call.

| Charming hotel on a cobblestone pedestrian walkway with artists, musicians and street performers right outside its door. Breakfast in the outdoor cafe was wonderful with delicious croissants, one chocolate. Perfect location, easy to get to everything in old Quebec. Previous reviews were very accurate, e.g., great spa-like shower, rooms nice but on the small side with not much closet space and virtually no drawer space. We were only there for 2 nights so that wasn't a problem. Our room faced a brick wall even though we requested a street view. But even so, we loved the hotel and will definitely stay there on our next visit to Quebec.

| Great location. Right in the heart of the city. Not fancy but clean and comfortable. Small fridge in room came in handy for storing snacks and helped us save some $ on eating out all the time. Complimentry breakfast was great. TV reception was poor. No many amenities.

| This was a perfect hotel if you don't require the extras (ie, room service, fitness center, spa). It has a ton of character and is very European. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly and helpful. It has a small bar and outdoor cafe that is wonderful for coffee in the morning. I would definitely recommend it.
