| My stay in this hotel is one to forget. Not only I didn't nottice anything special when I booked it online, but it even seemed nice. The reality was that when I went to my room on my second night I found it the same way I had left it in the morning (beds undone, bathroom dirty and towels wet). When I complained to the reception desk the following morning I was received very badly and misstreated. They pointed me to a small paper in the wall where it said that these were the normal conditions and that they only cleaned once a week. The person in there also told me that this was all indicated in the online conditions that I had accepted, only to tell me he didn't have time to talk to me when I tried to show him that in my printout of the conditions it didn't say anything. Furthermore, the day I had to leave I found a paper in my door indicating that I needed to clean myself the room and vacoom the floor, or pay a 50Euro penalty for leaving the premises dirty! Ah, and don't expect to find anyone in the reception desk after 8PM, they close for the night. Not even if your door key doesn't open (as happened to a friend of mine) you'll find someone to come right away to help you. Don't get missleaded by the hotel's name, it is not downtown! it is in the border of what we could call walking distance, with 80% of the other hotels in Toulouse being closer to the center.

| this is a tourist hotel which means the linens are only changed once a week (but before you get there of course!) and you do have to empty your own garbage and tidy up a bit (do the dishes, etc) when you leave. The room was tiny but very efficient, but so are all European rooms; the one thing we didn't realize was that we'd get a lovely balcony! ours overlooked the canal du midi and the lively street scene below. the location was great, we could walk all over the city from there (it's a few blocks to the old part of the city), and the staff was very friendly and helpful, gave us a map, etc. Also, the TV had THREE english language channels (BBC, CNN and Eurosport) which is more than anywhere else we stayed in france. The bed was a trundle bed in the double room (cheapest) we booked, so if you want a true double you may want to upgrade. Ours was perfectly comfortable and easy to put together as a couch for the day. We really enjoyed Toulouse, it's not touristy but has some lovely spots and people are very friendly and the food of course is wonderful and reasonably priced.
