| The hotel is located in the Pocitos neighborhood which is pretty nice. Lots of good restaurants and very close to the beach. Service was excellent in all respects. My only complaint would be the inavailability of a non-smoking room.

| Pocitos Plaza is located in the neighbourhood of the same name. Small, clean, modern and well staffed, it offers a quality base for a stay in Uruguay's capital. The reception desk always has at least two people in attendance: their service is courteous, quick and professional. Rooms are simple but the size is decent and they are clean and modern. A simple breakfast is available until very late morning. The only drawback is the location relative to other areas of the city. This is not downtown Montevideo. On the upside there are bars and restaurants nearby, and the Rambla is one block away. However the Old Town (Ciudad Vieja) is not close, nor is the airport. Downtown Montevideo is very different from this neighbourhood. So if you want a sense of what the city is really like, be prepared to drive or use public transport. You will not be able to use Pocitos Plaza as a convenient base. Which is a shame, as the hotel is very pleasant - as is the city itself.
