What to expect: Business and corporate guests are the usual clientele at this large, yet chic hotel, where new arrivals are greeted with freshly baked chocolate-chip cookies. The spacious ground-floor lobby glows with marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Covered self- and valet parking is tucked within floors two through five.

Amenity highlights: Guests and locals enjoy live piano music in the Bruin's Den cocktail lounge, Tuesday–Friday evenings, while the adjacent Le Café serves all meals in private banquettes. For early or late workouts, the hotel's fitness facility is open 24 hours.

Insider tip: Trendy Westwood Village, just 4 blocks from the hotel down Wilshire Boulevard, is packed with movie multiplexes, restaurants, cafés, interesting shops, and plenty of people-watching.

Le Café - All meals, including a daily breakfast buffet, are served in this appealing restaurant with copper and brick accents, banquettes, and tables with high-back chairs. The menu leans toward continental-American cuisine.

Bruin's Den - The large, clubby cocktail lounge, adjacent to the restaurant, features live piano music Tuesday–Friday, 6–10 PM.

Located in the heart of Century City, the Westwood is a great value in the midst of high- (and might I add, over-)priced accommodations. Although the halls and lobby were only fresh-air cooled, the room was air-conditioned and while not luxurious, it was quiet, spacious, and very comfortable. (If you need Internet access, take your wireless.) The front desk staff was not overly courteous, but still they were pleasant. Valet was a little slow, but you can self park with no problem (at the same rate). The best service was in the restaurant. I ate there twice and the food was excellent and the wait staff was attentive. Would I stay at Westwood again? Definitely! Save on your hotel and go shopping!

We were very disappointed in the room we were given and the floor we were on. There was trash in the hallways, our room needed tlc and the service in the restaurant was very slow. A positive was that it was in a nice location and neighborhood.

The overall satisfaction was great. If I have a complaint, it would just be to update their beds. It was really soft and needs to be updated. Other than that, they were great!

The location of this hotel is wonderful. It is located in a very nice area of Los Angeles, just up the street from Beverly Hills and UCLA. All the surrounding neighborhoods are great for walking, well kept and safe. My husband and I walked to and from UCLA a couple of times. The view from our room was great. On a clear day we could see the ocean and sailboats on it.

A bit of an older style hotel. Not the spiffiest I've ever been in, but definitely clean and comfortable. Great location. Very attentive staff. Not the greatest, but I'd go back at the right price.
