| The hotel is fine, not spectacular. A-C in the room which was not mentioned but is important for summer. Staff is friendly but English not that great. You will need to take cabs to center but reception gladly calls for you and takes 1-2 mins for cab to arrive. Only about 2-4 US to get to the center so not a big problem. Overall I would recommend the hotel for a budget option as long as you don`t mind being about 2 miles from the center of town. I can`t emphasize enough that cabs are readily available and cheap though. Breakfast was included and was decent.

| The Hotel Brod was a nice surprise. The service was good and the room cleaned neatly every day. It is an easy taxi ride to the city center (about six leva). The hotel staff set me up with a wonderful English speaking guide for a week of day trips. I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Sofia.
