| The hotel is right on the beach, but it is old and needs some repair. The lobby is nice and clean and room service also kept the rooms clean. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again because the service is good but the hotel does need paint and other repairs.

| They are in the process of making the place handicap accesible. The main middle staircase to get to the beach and pool is closed off, the stairway doors screwed shut. You have to go to either end on the place and either take the public beach access stairs or through a maze of levels and passageways on the opposite side. The key cards are sketchy, you have to try them a few times. Other than those concerns, the place is cool, great location, walk to everything, actually saw dolphins 40 feet off shore playing and jumping in the waves. When you take a walk on the beach you forget about the key cards not working well. Great sunsets every night we were there. Pool was nice, stayed 9 days while taking a class at the Gemological Institute of America which has a beautiful campus a mile or two from the beach. If they fix the stairs, paint, and replace the card readers it would be better, but i still didn't want to leave.

| Nice location, quiet, comfy feather comforters on beds, F/P and other room features made stay even more pleasant. Front desk gave answers to all questions in a pleasant, helpful manner. Breakfast room and outdoor balcony overlooked the Pacific - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - wish it could have been longer!

| For the price, you can't beat this terrific location right on the beach and walking distance from shops and restaurants in Carlsbad village. The rooms could be a little better maintained - toilet seat was loose and bathtub faucet dripped, but this really didn't detract from our enjoyment at all. The pool is small and only 3-5 feet deep, but perfect for children. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, much more than we expected. Breakfast is served in a meeting room overlooking the pool and ocean, so you can watch the surfers! We enjoyed every moment of our stay and would gladly return.
