Features
What to expect: Close to downtown businesses and sights, the Marriott Financial Center is located two blocks from Ground Zero and 3-6 blocks from the World Financial Center, Wall Street, and Battery Park. Its majestic marble lobby is decorated in reds and golds, with dramatic red-and-black pillars and a stained-glass dome above the staircase. Business travelers make up most of the clientele, with leisure travelers arriving on weekends and in summer. Amenity highlights: The hotel’s restaurant, Roy’s New York, has a Hawaiian-American menu and serves three meals daily; its lounge, 85 West, offers cocktails, appetizers, and weekend entertainment. Upstairs from the dining room is a museum devoted to early American history.
Roy’s New York - Part of an international chain owned by chef Roy Yamaguchi (who makes occasional guest appearances), the restaurant serves a Hawaiian-American menu with Asian accents. Dinner menu items include blackened Island ahi, Mongolian beef short rib pizza, and miso-marinated lamb. The restaurant seats 200 and is decorated with wood tones and colorful Island-style murals. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and features a signature cocktail list. 85 West - The lounge serves cocktails and appetizers in the afternoon and evening, and offers live music (generally a jazz vocalist) on Friday and Saturday nights. The room is furnished with leather seating and booths suitable for groups, and has a view of West Street.

| If you're looking to stay downtown and can get a good rate, this is a very good hotel with all standard features one would expect in this category. The room was quite, for a good night sleep. The hotel is not new and has no particular character, but still recommendable.

| This hotel is not the fanciest, but when you're in New York how much time do you really spend in the room? The beds were very comfortable and we were able to sleep 4 people just fine. The room is a little cramped for 4, but for the price it was worth it. The location is 1 block from the WTC site. The subway stations are within a couple blocks and there are always taxis waiting outside when you go out the front doors.

| Beds were very comfortable. Needed more mirror space for women, hard to get ready with more than one woman in room. Doesn't look the same as it does on the internet at all. Rooms much smaller, lobby not as prestigious as internet. Overall OK. Beds made up for it though, very comfortable.

| We were very happy with this hotel. I was expecting a much smaller room from what I have heard about NY City, but we were very comfortable and had a great view of the Statue of Liberty right out our window. We arrived a little bit early, but they took the time to find a room that was ready and had a view, as we requested. It was easy to grab a taxi to get anywhere and it is in walking distance to the Ground Zero sight and there are good places to eat and shop in the area. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was fairly good and handy before going out for the day. We would recommend this hotel to other visitors to NY City.

| The hotel was clean and the staff was cordial, friendly and helpful. The room was a palace compared to other hotels i've stayed at for twice the money. The area is quiet, yet full of people, and the restaurant in the hotel was wonderful, as are the others in the area.

| Although i know requests are not always guarenteed when booking with expedia, I could not believe we received a king room when my reservation clearly stated 4 adults would be staying evening. A cot was not available (this is new york city folks!)- and the best they could do was send up an extra blanket and some pillows for my daughter to sleep on the floor. My other daughter sleep on the chair. Because of the location, I would recommend this hotel to others. It should have been a wonderful experience- i would only stay there again if i only needed one bed. Also- the check-in process took almost a half an hour waiting in line. I expected more from a Marriott hotel.

| Family of four - thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location for going to the Statue of Liberty and seeing the WTC site. We had a minor problem in getting a king size bed vs. the 2 double beds requested (but apparently not guaranteed) but the hotel worked it out for us. We got a top floor room with a spectacular view of the water. We used the pool, the fitness room and the restaurants on site. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and very accommodating. We'd go back without hesitation.

| Had a corner room overlooking the Hudson, Ellis Island. Great view, clearly not all rooms will face that direction. Room was clean and adequate sized. 2 dbl beds as was requested. Staff was very friendly and cooperative. Room service was "a 10". Lobby is small.
