| This is a typical Scandinavian hotel in that the rooms are simple and furnishings are of pared down design but we could find no fault in the hotel cleanliness or service. The room was comfortable - nice to have the black out curtains in the summer. Staff was very helpful and made great recommendations for bars and restaurants that fit our preferences. It is handy to have the buffet breakfast included. Reyjkavik is small so the 5-10 min walk to the main shopping street is no big deal.

| The hotel staff is immensely friendly and helpful. They let me check in 8 hours early and helped out with setting up numerous day trips. The Internet service in the room was really expensive, but at least they had free net access int he lobby. Big thumbs up!

| As expensive as Iceland is, staying at this hotel was a gem of a find! It's within walking distance of everything, bus stop very near, grocery store and restaurants near--the Pot and Pan is connected to the hotel!! Free breakfast buffet at Pot and Pan each morning definitely helped with the travel budget. Friendly staff and free internet usage on their public computer!

| the hotel bjork is a nice, modest, and very comfortable european hotel. don't expect bells and whistles, but the beds are very comfortable and the comforters thick and toasty. if all you need is a place to sleep and prepare for your adventures, this will more than suffice. it is on the outskirts of the main part of town, so be prepared to walk, take the bus, or drop serious cash to ride in cabs. the bus stop is only a block away and it runs frequently, while the walk is approx. 15 minutes at a healthy pace. we are from new york and it was a normal everyday walk. the staff was helpful and listened to your needs before giving recommendations. the walls are thin, but it took a few nights before it became apparent and at no point was it a problem. a good hotel if you are there to explore and see things, not if you want to step out of your room and be in the middle of everything.

| This hotel was much less expensive than others, so we were a little nervous as to what we would find upon arrival. It was GREAT! The front-desk staff was incredibly friendly, they helped us numerous times with booking tours and answering our questions. The hotel decor is very minimalistic, you will certainly feel as if you are in Scandanavia. Everything is very clean and in great condition. The beds were likely the most comfortable I have ever slept in, which sometimes made getting up in the mornings for sightseeing hard to do! There are only two downsides--the first is that there is not a clock or alarm in the room (but the front desk was great with the wake-up calls) and the second is the location. We would have liked it to be a little bit closer to the main strip, as it took about 15 mintues to walk to town.
