Belizean Shores has beautiful grounds, an amazing pool (kids and adults will both love it), a friendly staff, a clean (but small) beach area, huge rooms (at least the 2nd floor rooms) and was a lovely experience. Taxi to town is pricey ($5 each way, per person), but you won't go to town daily if you take snorkel/fishing/diving trips. Walk south for 5 minutes on the beach and eat at Caliente restaurant. The hotel restaurant is OK. Bring snacks as there are NO fast food places near the hotel. Hotel staff is very friendly and there are lots of available excursions from the hotel dock. Trip to Lamanai (Mayan pyramids) is great but a LONG trip. We enjoyed San Pedro, loved the Belizean Shores, and would recommend Belize/San Pedro/Ambergris Caye to anyone who loves the ocean. If you don't like the ocean, don't like boats, don't like a casual atmosphere, go to Waikiki instead of Belize. (I happen to love both places!)

I have stay many hotels over 20 years, and this most relaxing stay I have ever had. I spent my days by the pool(well the pool bar) and snorkeling, and my evenings walk on the beach with my wife ad kids (well not every evening). This place had the best selection of activites when it came to water actives or inland adventure. I strong recommend this place.

We had a great time at Belizean Shores. We were in a one bedroom, lower level room off of the beautiful swimming pool. We rented bikes to ride to town (golf carts and water taxi also available). Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. The restaraunt at Belizean shores was nice but it was great to have a full kitchen and be able to make some of our own meals. Our favorite restaraunt in San Pedro was Cocina Caramba. There was a tour guide company at the dock of Belizean Shores that we used to arrange a snorkel trip as well as a trip to Xunantunich and the zoo. There are many other companies in town and we did not compare prices. We had a great time in Belize and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Belizean Shores again if we are ever lucky enough to go back.

Belizean Shores was an excellent place to stay! Everything was so well kept on the grounds. Frome the beautiful pool and ground to the amazing staff at the hotel and on the adventures, you'll love it. Don't expect to have shampoo and all of the other ammeniities most hotels have, because it's more like a condo stay. If you want a place to relax in beautiful Belize - Belizean Shores is your place. :)

Very clean 1 bedroom modern condos with full kitchen (stocked for cooking & serving, including coffee pot and microwave), 3/4 bath, private patios. Be sure to bring an alarm clock as there was not one (at least not in my space). The grounds are beautiful and the pool area is awesome, known to be one of the best in all of Belize. The restaurant is decent, serving the basics. The only need for improvement is in the wait service in the restaurant and with room service. It's a bit slow and often food delivery not complete, such as no dressing with salad or beverages not delivered although everything does eventually show up and tastes good. As an alternative, stop at the market in town to prepare meals in the condo. Property is located about 4 miles north of San Pedro's "city center", which is accessed by a 10 minute water taxi that runs every 1 to 2 hours, depending on the time of day ($5 each way). You can also get private runs (at a higher cost) or sometimes catch a ride with hotel staff if they're boating into town. The property does, however, provide pick-up/drop-off from either the airport or boat dock upon your arrival/departure. Belizean Shores also has golf carts and bicycles available for hourly or daily rental if you choose to use either one of these means for your transportation. I did not mind the distance from town because it was nice to be able to escape the boat noise and foot traffic and frankly, it's a lot prettier north of town too.

The hotel is very laid back and very friendly employee's. You can go anywhere in shorts or bathing suit, from the beach to the pool or for lunch. With white sand completely covering the property you don't even need shoes.

We spent four days at Belizean Shores and loved every minute. The pool was great, the snorkeling better (we saw quite a few species right off the dock), and the staff was very helpful and nice. We ate at the restaurant twice, and thought the food and service were both very good. Reasonably priced, too, under the circumstances. Everyone we talked to seemed to be having a good time. We would be very happy to go back.

After talking about our vacation for a month and working ourselves up into a frenzy of excitement, my husband and I set ourselves up for huge disappointment. It was wonderful to have our expectations met and maybe exceeded. I would call these units villas. We stayed upstairs. It seems that the upstairs units might be better - private veranda and a loft! My husband caught a nice sized fish off the dock and we cooked it up in the kitchen. We brought coffee, sugar and creamer bought fresh pineapple in San Pedro and enjoyed our breakfast on the veranda each morning. This was really a comfortable place. Great service and friendly people. The pool was clean. Grounds were well kept. Try the nachos at the Laguna Grill. Good Pizza at Pauly's Pizza down the beach from Belizean Shores. The view is obscured by palm trees but that didn't bother me. Try the night snorkeling trip. This place was ideal for us. We ate out only twice during our 7 night stay and cooked in the rest. Anyone looking for serious "nightlife" might want to consider something closer to San Pedro. Even if you stay at the Shores make a journey to San Pedro.
